Large portions. Great food
The food all taste the same and same after taste, greasy, low quality syrup on their Hugh pancakes. Hard bacon little to no flavor, plain taste sausage, Been their twice, not going back. Always busy so get there early. Love the pictures on the walls and ceiling. Give it a try, just my experience, those two times we were there, bill for 3 $50.00
Most of the time you gotta wait
Carry out tasted like the rusty griddel an hashbrowns had to be Torn apart eggs tuff..toast rubber..maybe need dine in
Adorable family run diner. The memorabilia decor is charming and entertaining. The service was quick for drinks and food. The food proportions were large but the food quality was only 4 star. We had a breakfast burrito which lacked spice and flavor. We also had a grilled cheese which was made oddly with a dollop of shredded cheddar on toast. The onion rings were real onion rings but too heavily battered and quite greasy. I do recommend because we prefer to support local, but stick the classic American options.
great food, great service, great customers, great atmosphere.
A historic neighborhood staple keeping Willow Run and the area fed for decades. Their flavors and portions are legendary and have achieved national fame. We love their breakfasts, but you can't go wrong anytime!

Food was amazing! Had the bomber omelette and it was delish. Tight seating however. Sat at a small table by the window and we were only 2 feet away from the people next to us. Other than that, it was great service and great food!

They have a very cramped entrance and there is really no good place to stand when waiting to be seated. In some cases you have to wait outside which is less than ideal when it is raining or snowing. The food however is amazing which explains why it is so busy. If you want to try it for the first time don't go on the weekend.
Kid-friendliness: They do have high chairs but can only seat you in certain parts of the restaurant due to the narrow walkways.

The Bomber Restaurant is an absolute must-visit for anyone passing through Ypsilanti, MI! Stepping into this cozy diner is like taking a trip back in time, with its charming World War II memorabilia and warm, nostalgic atmosphere. But beyond the décor, what really makes this place special is the incredible food—and at the top of my list is the Bomber Omelette.
Let me tell you, this omelette is a masterpiece. Packed with a delicious mix of your choice of meat, cheese, onions, and peppers, it’s an explosion of flavor in every bite. The portion is massive (you will NOT leave hungry!), but what stands out is the love and care that goes into preparing it. Each ingredient tastes fresh and perfectly balanced, making this the kind of breakfast that lingers in your memory.
The service? Just as wonderful as the food. The staff makes you feel right at home, always friendly, attentive, and ready to share a bit of the restaurant’s rich history.
The Bomber Restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a piece of history and a community staple that needs to be protected at all costs. Whether you’re a history buff or simply a fan of amazing comfort food, this diner is pure gold. I can’t recommend it enough!
