Can’t believe I drove by this place for so long without realizing what it was. Seriously best BBQ I have had in Southeast MI. Literally everything we had off the menu was amazing. Mac and Cheese along with the brisket was the best I think I’ve ever had anywhere. The quantities are smaller but prices are decent. It’s definitely not the classic pile of meat on a cafeteria tray style BBQ, but the flavor makes up for it. The vibes inside were awesome, dark speakeasy with exposed brick walls and low couches. Great cocktails and large selection of Shorts beer.

So good! Go for happy hour. Great food, drinks, service & atmosphere. Prices were great too!

The Boulder sandwich was very good. I opted to add pimento cheese. I do feel for the price however, it should come with fries, or a side. I tried the original bbq sauce and the South Carolina sauce, both were good. The service was good. I wouldn’t normally get a burger at a barbecue place, but I might try the smash burger next time. Would recommend.

refreshed decor good barbecue of smoked wings, brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Creative bartenders and fair prices. collard greens side dish was spicy and my dining companion ate all of it. The mini cornbread loaves were a bit too sweet. overall great and looking forward to going back.

It's back to Red Rock (from Bitter truth) same owner. Very fair main menu prices but I'm a happy hour person. If you want a relaxed comfortable place for happy hour, this is it. The Garbage Fries are amazing. $9 cocktail are great too. Happy hour is everyday 3-6 plus a night happy hour Friday and Saturday after 9.

One of my favorite bbq spots! The entire family loves it. I'm sure everything is great but I can't bring myself to not order the brisket and pork just because I know how delicious they are! And don't forget the brussel sprouts.

Edit: My review was for Red Rock that was here previously. Apparently a new business opened and somehow kept all of the previous restaurant’s feedback. I have not been to Bitter Truth yet.

I had the Red Rock cater my wedding and the food was absolutely amazing!! I had so many compliments from my guests and now husband. The catering staff was very easy to work with and made my wedding stress free. I would definitely recommend Red Rock to cater for a party!! Best decision!

Came from out of state, glad we tried it! We got brisket, garbage fries (which were my favorite) Mac n cheese, and a few other sandwiches. Awesome stuff here!!

It was expensive for what you get. To much rub on the ribs to my liking, and the pulled pork was dry. The brisked had no break but a stretch. If you no barbecue you'll know what I mean. The service. Was good though. Oh and the smoke chicken wings were not crispy.

Great service, great food, but expensive.

Loooove this place in the sense that everything tastes great! Love the bbq chicken salad and the Buffalo Mac and cheese. Both of these items are a bit over priced for what they are and unfortunately they raised their prices even more through the pandemic.

Update. Best happy hour in ypsi. Burnt ends and Brussels are SO GOOD.
