You won’t find this kind of sushi anywhere else in Michigan. The new owner was the head chef at Tiger Lily Ferndale, and as far as I know, he’s the top sushi chef in Michigan. Every single penny I spend here is absolutely worth it.

Sushi Dabu is hands-down one of the best sushi spots around. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is welcoming and calm — perfect for a casual dinner or a sushi date night. The menu is full of both classic rolls and unique house specials! The menu also has more than sushi!
The fish is incredibly fresh, which makes all the difference. The spicy tuna is a go-to, and the chef’s special sashimi platter is beautifully presented and well-balanced. We also tried the tempura appetizer — light, crispy, and not greasy at all.
Service is friendly, knowledgeable, and fast without feeling rushed. You can tell they care about the food and the customer experience. Whether you’re a sushi purist or just looking to try something new, Sushi Dabu won’t disappoint.

Had to add a review because I received top notch service from them and needed to share. Ok so I ordered delivery off of their website and there was a bit of a snafu where unfortunately the delivery driver didn't deliver my order. Called to inquire whether I could still receive my food and they went above and beyond for me to get my order.
Chris(I think that was the name I heard, but my bad if I'm misremembering), one of the staff at the restaurant asked if I wanted to get a refund or receive the food. I was worried about their closing time but still wanted the food because lunchtime hunger lol. He told me not to worry and delivered my order himself --almost 5 miles away!
Greatly appreciated the effort to deliver the food which was delicious as always and I'll for sure continue to patronize Sushi Dabu. Awesome staff, great food, and wonderful customer service --super, duper recommend!
