I've been going the the Char intermittently for years now. Unfortunately they are a bit too far for a day to day stop. With that said, I've never been disappointed with the food. They are usually busy. They have a hopping takeout business, so dining in can be a bit of a wait, although well worth it. I enjoyed the Char-fait which is twist on the parfait but with a layer of mash potatoes, amazing pulled pork, delicious Mac & Cheese another layer of pulled pork, another layer of Mac & Cheese, pulled chicken that was not dried out. Topped with a chicken wing and pickles. It was so good I went back a week later and bought more to share with others to experience.
Our first visit. Moved to the area from KC, so we’ve had our share of BBQ. My wife got them on Amazon mini sampler. The pork was good, the brisket was not edible. It was very very dry. Actually believe it was overcooked Chuck Roast. I got the charred/ rubbed wings. Not much char, good flavor. Very big. Cornbread and Mac and cheese very good. Sauces were very good. Great atmosphere friendly staff. We will go back but won’t order brisket!
