Honestly, I thought we got the wrong order. Really disappointed.

Highlight, the veggies are SO FRESH!

Unfortunately the chow mein was flash cooked, so close to raw veggies. No sauce. Flavorful vegetables but no added flavor to them other than the light oil they were flash cooked in.

The chicken fried rice was good, fresh cooked white meat chicken and lots of it! The rice however wasn't packed into the box as it normally would be. In fact, it wasn't filled to the top.

We ordered a separate order of wontons which aren't pictured here. I'm not sure I've ever had undercooked wontons before. The corners were crispy but the cream cheese pocket was gummy and undercooked. It still has the translucent look to it, as the wraps do naturally before they're cooked all the way.

Hopefully this was an out of the ordinary experience. But the experience was worth sharing.

For a quick order and take out chinese restaurant, 88Wok is excellent on food quality, service, and speed in delivery!! I've received delivery service from the owner with a smile and gratitude as he remembered me even when it had been months since I had been in the restaurant!

Not good. We are far from home . Unfortunately, we were starving and hungry for Chinese food, but we should’ve left as soon as we walked in. The place is not clean. There’s no hot water in the bathroom.

When I ordered my chicken chow mein bok choy had black spots on it so I had to go back up and order something different. The flavor is just off not to mention in large chunks.
Plastic fork was so fragile for eating.

I ordered “Mapo Tofu” from here once and was told they could make it even though it wasn’t technically listed on their menu. What I got was old tofu cut into triangular pieces in some sauce? lol.

I know what mapo tofu is (mala type of dish) and what I got was basically tofu cut up into triangles with random bits of peppers and broccoli and put in some sauce lol.

This is an update on my review. I see a lot of ‘1 stars’ and I don’t blame them. They probably had a pretty bad experience. I’m just here to say that sometimes the person that normally cooks is gone for some reason, the restaurant has to stay open and we get Barney Pfeiff in the kitchen trying to roll an egg. Granted, fair warning would be fantastic but usually, for me, anywhere I go, if I complain, I get my money back. Most of the time we get what we expect from 88 Wok. I’m hoping they read this since I just ordered something and I got a request to leave a review- which I already had awhile ago. This is not a corporate food restaurant like Red Lobster or Applebee’s - it’s a small, family restaurant that’s doing their best in a bad economy. If you get a bad batch, ask for your money back. If you want fantastic Asian food, go to Frogtown. Just make sure you’re strapped.

88 Wok is average for Chinese delivery. It’s what I expected from a north suburb Chinese restaurant. We just tried them for the 2nd time last night. They have decent prices and both times we had it delivered in less than 30 minutes - which to us is impressive as the delivery restaurant 6 blocks from us takes 45-60 minutes for delivery.

The food is average but they give some hefty portions!! I WILL continue to order from them even though the cream cheese wontons need some serious work.
(I freely admit that I’m an Asian food SNOB and turn to Chinese delivery only when I don’t want to cook OR drive to Frogtown for some good Thai or Vietnamese).

I order the chicken fried rice and it was horrible. The color was a strange yellow color. There was very little chicken. It looked like the rice was boiled as well as the white chicken. It cost me $12.99 and it was horrible.
