We visited Metta Coffee and Avant Garden bookstore a few weeks ago. I chose a delicious honey-infused latte from their unique and creative beverage menu. Warm, wonderful service from Amber and her team. Highly recommend.

I'm not sure why the lady at the register had to stick her finger in my face 3 times in order to take my order. I'm new at ordering coffee here, and she made sure I knew it. I felt intimidated and threatened at how she invaded my space and corrected how I spoke. I was just trying to support this local business. She seemed very frustrated and got me frustrated as well. - This happened on Saturday Sept 20th at about 11 am

Metta Coffee is a true gem in Anoka! The coffee and espresso are delicious, the space is welcoming and inclusive, and the monthly specialty drinks are always super creative. If the weather permits, there’s a magical outdoor patio space in the back. It’s absolutely worth spending a little more to support this amazing local spot over a big chain. Highly recommend! I’m a weekly visitor (or more) to read, work or visit with friends.

A coffee shop where EVERYONE is welcome! Great coffee, love the theme they have each month with specialty drinks. Great atmosphere, lots of seating indoors and out and its located under a bookstore!

Metta Coffee is a very welcoming place. I love the rotation of drink choices. There are also events that provide many different experiences. There is so much good to say about Metta Coffee!

I love having an independent, non-chain coffeeshop in downtown Anoka! ☕

Stopped here after a long bike ride! Enjoyed easily the best iced vanilla latte and raspberry croissant!

I used to get the banana bread frappe every morning when they were located in Andover and I think of that drink to this day. Truly want to recreate it or something so so good!

super friendly staff but the prices are outrageous! wanted to get a large drink but saw that they were charging over $9 for a flavored latte! ended up paying over $8 for a medium iced drink off the menu, not even customized. didn’t really taste like anything special either. will stick to my usual starbucks from now on. which sucks because i really liked the atmosphere and staff.

Grea coffee, Fresh roasted beans. I usually make a special trip for the beans to share with friends at the lake.

Love to support locals and would always pass Starbucks to get to the “local, superior spot “ until today. There was no one in front of me I’m the drive thru, but somehow the lady at the window mistook me for “Sara with a protein shake.” That could have been easily forgotten had my Chail tea latte with coconut milk been almost par. Sadly, it was pathetic - NO flavor, and has an almost coffee taste. I despise coffee. Everyone has a bad day occasionally. Hoping the LOCAL spot improves.

This has been the only coffee shop I've routinely come back to! Every coffee has been amazing, and I love the rotating menus. The staff are always so kind, even when it is crazy busy! The vibes are cozy, and I'd say the decor is slightly eclectic but in a great way! They showcase local artists and let them sell their merchandise/art there! They definitely let the beauty of that historic building shine, too! I'd say my favorite drink on the menu is the wizards, and my husband loves the honeybee. You gotta stop in and grab a drink!

This is a nice coffeeshop with a comfortable atmosphere. It is associated with a small bookstore. The shop has unique (and funny) swag for sale, a lot of which is addressed to the LGBTQ+ community, which can be hard to find.
