We knew it was extremely busy when we entered so we were prepared for a wait. Our beverage order came pretty quickly for how busy it was but after an hour we had finished our beverages but had not received our food yet. Somewhere along the way a new server was assigned to us so we asked for our beer tab and told the new server we wanted to cancel our food order. Lo and behold our cold food order was brought to us. It was not what we had ordered so we we once again tried to pay our beer tab and return the food order. Lo and behold again our original server came back with our cold food and tried to pass it off as new and asked if we wanted to take it to go. We did not but were charged for it anyway so paid the entire bill and left without eating. We were even charged for side items we did not receive ☹️ Being there an hour we did notice other patrons come in after us, get their food and drink and leave before us ☹️

Attended a play at the Lyric Arts theatre several blocks away but came early to find a restaurant for dinner. Billy’s was one of several possibilities and was the location we chose.
We dined about 6:00 on a Thursday night and it was not busy. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered a beer and both opted for the Thursday night special BBQ Rib dinner. What a feast!! We received a full rack of BBQ ribs with a baked potato, salad or coleslaw, and a breadstick. The happy hour beer I had was only $2.75 and the rib special was only $18.99. Total per person cost including 20% tip was just under $30. Very hard to find a bargain like that anywhere else these days.
Food was delicious and very filling. Ended up taking a half rack of ribs home and enjoyed them again for lunch the following 2 days.
Found out that the outdoor patio was more of an outdoor bar under a tent. Anoka now allows people to wander on the street while carrying a drink if they obtain a special glass from a downtown bar. Haven’t tried that option yet since I live in Southwest Minneapolis, but hope to try it out in the future.
I still have 3 more plays coming up in the future with the package I purchased, so more dining adventures in Anoka are certain.

My go-to place anytime of the day or time
foods always delicious. staff is always friendly. the waitress, i don’t remember her name, that we had today (father’s day) was awesome!
Server was super friendly and attentive
I got the Philly and the meat was really dry and chewy, my fiancé burger was well done when we asked for medium.
Place was not busy except the outside bar area and very dark inside.
Burgers were deliciously charred and a good size but the tater tots tasted old. Staff were harried. Okay experience.
My wife and I live in and love Anoka, and one of the main reasons is Billy's Bar & Grill. The food is excellent. Recently I had a conversation with Paul the awesome owner, and he told me that although his supplier offered him better profitability through buying frozen beef instead of using fresh beef for the amazing burgers, he couldn't do it because he wants his customers to have fresh, never frozen, hand-pattied burgers. And they're sooooooo good. Especially the hot hot hot burger. A commitment to quality is evident here.
The staff is also amazing. All of them, but I'd like to give a particular shout out to Tyler, Torrie, Taylor and Katelyn. They've all been there a long time and are always so kind and are so good at their job. We always feel so welcome and wanted and they're a big big part of that.
They have a great patio, a good beer selection, really good breakfast and even karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights!
It's rewarding to support a local, family-owned business too.
The Margherita pizza is more of a Bruschetta pizza because it has balsamic glaze that is not normally on Margherita pizza. It's also lacks fresh basil, which is a key ingredient. Either way, it's a menu item to skip if you're a connoisseur.
Get the chips and Queso cheese or garlic cheese bread to snack on instead.
Fun dive bar environment with karaoke and good energy.
Make sure to ask about drink specials.

Never been here before but saw the owner on social media give away 30 burgers to feed the community. With service like this, Billy deserves a 5 star review. Very commendable; makes me proud to be an American.
