Come here with my dad to get coffee and donuts it's his favorite
Went to Hans’ Bakery on July 3. It was a hot day, and the doors were propped open it was just as warm inside as it was out. The display case looked picked over, with only a few leftover items scattered around. One of the front windows was spider-webbed with cracks, which didn’t give a great first impression.
We bought a few baked goods to bring home. The doughnut was dry, the danishes were too, and to top it off, my mother-in-law found a hair in hers. We used to love this place and would go out of our way to visit, but sadly, this last visit was disappointing enough that we won’t be back.
Is this place still open? Arrived at 7:45 on a Friday. Website and sign on door said opens at 7 am. Door locked and closed sign displayed.
I would give a 0 star if possible.
Looking forward with going there with some of my grandchildren. Was super disappointed, the rolls were very stale, not fresh, and horrible tasting. I paid 15 dollars for 5 rolls and did not even finish them. I will never go back.
Walked into an empty bakery with not a single donut mid-morning. Haven't been here for a year or so, I thought they were closed when we walked in. Dont waste your time coming here. Reading through the reviews, it seems this has been an issue as of late.
This place used to be amazing. The whole case was full of cakes, cookies, cupcakes and of course awesome donuts.
Now there is broken windows, it's not very inviting and the case is at best 1/3 full of average donuts. There is almost never anyone in there and you can still get donuts at close, which also almost never happened.
Staff is still friendly, but that is about as good as it gets.
Like many, we use to come here alot and absolutely loved it.
We pulled in on a Saturday at 9am and I thought it was permanently closed. There were 2 cars in the parking lot. We walked inside to an empty bakery (literally)....empty bakery cases and displays taken down and just laid out on a table in the entry way. If i didnt just hype up my 3yr old for donuts, i probably would have just walked out. Honestly, i felt like i was in the wrong spot. There were maybe 4 trays of donuts and danishes in the massive bakery case. The donuts look like they've been redipped in icing, after tasting them, i wouldn't doubt it. They are incredibly stale and dried out, basically inedible. We asked for glazed and they only had maple glazed, a few old fashioned donuts and a couple sprinkled donuts. The worker apologized and said everything that they had was used for orders.
We're super disappointed. I wish we would have read current reviews before we tried to go.
I hope someone buys this place and restores it back to the original glory it deserves for such a loved location from the community.
This place used to be great. We have a tradition of going here on our kids birthdays and getting the texas sized donuts for them. Daughters birthday in February and now sons Today, the hours say they should be open but the door is locked and the lights are off, in this case 25 minutes past the time they are supposed to open. This is a 25 minute drive for us. Once, maybe an emergency. Twice, sorry we won't be back.
I want to start by saying how much I used to love this bakery. It holds wonderful memories for me, but after my recent visits since their reopening, I've found myself quite disappointed.
It seems that the selection has really diminished—there are just a few donuts available, and I noticed they no longer carry the beloved bee hives that made them special. This morning, I arrived right at 7 AM, eager to grab some treats, only to find out that the owner hadn't delivered the donuts from their sister location yet. It was disheartening to see that they aren't baking anything at the bakery anymore; there were no bread buns, cakes, cookies, or donuts—just an empty store.
I truly miss the quality and experience I once cherished. It pains me to say it, but I don’t think I’ll be returning until there's a change in ownership. I genuinely hope they can get back to the fantastic place they once were, as it's such a shame for a family business with such a rich history.
I'm one of those who grew up with Hans and am so glad it was brought back. The only unfortunate thing is how many traditional items they don't have any more, definitely miss the raspberry blossoms. But i'm glad to have their custard filled donuts and the best raised glaze around.

What do you say about a legendary establishment like Han's Bakery that hasn't been said over the last half century? It stands the test of time with quality, commitment and good ol' fashioned service and surroundings.
I started going to Han's somewhere between 1982-83 before school at Fred Moore Junion High next door. My dad worked at the Anoka County Courthouse and would drive me to school in the early morning from Andover so I could be a part of my own one man Breakfast Club. Instead of having the less than desirable school offerings, I would cut across the street to fresher baked goods.
The Texas Sized Chololate donut and a couple of matching milks took a lot of energy to finish before school started.
It was probably not the right choice to need a nap first period, but, as a kid, it's what you did. It was a badge of honor and independence. What else was study hall for? What a rebel...
The best part, it was one of my better memories of a bygone era. All you get today are books and movies on pop culture about back then. Nobody really talks about donuit shops like Grandpa did.
I know it's changed hands a time or two, but the legend remains. When they say 'they don't make em like that any more', they've never been to Han's Bakery...
See you in a few hours...

I used to love this bakery, but after returning for the first time since their closure, I was incredibly disappointed. The selection was sparse—just a couple of donuts with no prices displayed—and they no longer carry my favorite bee hives or chicken sandwiches. To top it off, they ask for a tip when you buy just a couple of donuts. The quality and experience have gone downhill, and I won’t be coming back. Very dissatisfied.

When I told some I had been there they said they thought they had closed? No open but not as much bakery items in the shelves but plenty to chose from! Few people in there but a few came in & took out a box of their bakery items!

So sad to see it with no customers and staff that look like they are going to yell at you. No beehives ( a Hans tradition as far as I'm concerned). in the past you had to wait for your order, it smelled fresh and inviting. no sales or even deals on dozen donuts. I intended to spend a lot but decided not to based on these issues and factors.
