Newt’s Apple Valley

Reasonably good food. The burgers are definitely one of the best things on the menu. I've been here a few times as they've taken good care of my gluten-free friends when we dine out. I'm kind of disappointed they've taken away the ability to pay your check with your smartphone.

Dietary restrictions: I have multiple gluten-free friends and family members that have eaten here and report no contamination yet.

Kid-friendliness: They do have high chairs for the children and they bring free popcorn and have Kraft dinner on the kids menu.

I went in for a burger last evening and sat at the bar. I was there for 10 minutes and the bartender never once acknowledged that I was there. No greeting. Not even eye contact. I walked out.

This is one of those places that clearly puts maximizing profits over serving quality food. The up-charge for standard burger toppings like pickles, lettuce, tomato, and onion is incredibly tacky, especially when considering the high base prices for the burgers. Beyond that my entire family all had the same thought, the burgers were bland and dry. My burger’s top bun was dry AF and crumbling apart and the bottom bun was wet, not from the greasy burgers (again, it was dry and bland) but like literally wet, like it had been set in water or something. Over 100 bucks for four people who didn’t even order any alcohol is so disappointing. Especially when the fast food joint ‘Freddy’s’ is right up the road, costs about 11 bucks for a burger, fries, and a drink, and is miles better…like it’s not even debatable.

With all that said, this place is doing something right because it’s always really busy. I wonder if people around here value atmosphere and going to the “cool newer place” more than having a good burger.

Stopped by Newt’s in Apple Valley, and it was alright. Felt kinda bad for the bartender—looked like she was the only one working, so service was a little slow, but she was doing her best. Definitely seems like they could use an extra set of hands.

Beer was good, nice and cold. The burger was decent—better than most but nothing that really stood out. The fried chicken sandwich was okay too. The chicken itself was juicy, but the breading was a little dry and flaky, so the whole thing ended up feeling kind of dry. Fries and tots were solid, though, so no complaints there.

Not sure if we’ll be back, but if you’re looking for some decent bar food, it’s worth checking out. Hopefully, they get a little more help because the staff that was there was working hard!

I came in at 6:30 on a Friday night. I only had to wait for about 10 minutes for a booth

The restaurant was clean. Service was good.

I would say this restaurant's geared more towards younger people. But it's good for small groups families and couples.

Tables are a little bit crowded where walkways between tables are narrow. There is booths, tables, and a bar area. Large TVs all over.

Forgot my brother's food entirely. The chicken tenders and the fries were so disappointing. The chicken tenders were so shrimpy and tasted incredibly fishy.

Where’s the beef? I was served a 1/4lb burger on a 1/2lb burger bun. My fries were warm, soft, and limp. None of this is worthy of a Five Star rating by any means. The only reason they’re getting a 4 is the Cheese Curds were perfect.

Beer is beer. Burger was ok, nothing special. If it wasn’t for pull tabs nobody would be there. They say it’s a sports bar but the staff had no idea what was on or how to change the channel! Sucked in by the radio adds but won’t be back.
