Perfect thai food. Love it
We have ate here often and typically loved it. We did a take out order last night being we were hosting. EVERYONE was vomiting and ill within an hour of eating the fried rice and pad Thai noodles. Reported to the MN department of health. It was busy when we picked up our order, there is no way our large party was the only ones affected. No one answered the phones when we called Taste Of Thai Yai and will keep trying. Praying everyone makes a full recovery, this was incredibly wicked sick with quick onset. We will never eat at this establishment again.
Food was edible. They brought my wife’s meal 10 minutes after bringing mine to the table. One of the two employees we interacted with was rude. I would not recommend this place.
They were extremely busy but the service was slow the Pad Thai was flavoring was not good and the spring rolls were served with a sugar sauce that was not appealing.
Based on the reviews, I was expecting so much more. The place is kinda dingy hole in the wall place, which means it's either going to be great or terrible. We started with the special spring rolls, they were okay. My wife had the tom kha kai, which was decent - not great, not bad. I got the pad thai, it was not good. Every Thai restaurant should be able to make a respectable pad thai, this was not it.
Easily the worst Asian restaurant in the city. No flavor. Seasoning is just roughly tossed on as an after thought.
The restaurant interior isn't very welcoming, I always did take out. Suggest you look elsewhere.
I used to drive here to order my food even when my wife would order from another Asian place that had the same dish I wanted - Shrimp Fried Rice. The other place would give so little Shrimp that I never ever ordered there again, even when my wife would. Now, the last four orders we made from Thaiyai, they have also skimped on the shrimp. I would rather they raised the price, reduce the rice, whatever. There just isn’t enough shrimp for the amount of rice anymore. If this happens one more time, I will have to find somewhere else.
I asked if the restaurant serves pad kee mao. The waitress said she doesn’t know what that is and asked me to describe it. I did and she said, “is that like drunken noodles”. I said yes, that’s the same. She said, rudely, drunken noodles is Chinese and we are Thai. From a basic search: “Drunken noodles, also known as pad kee mao, is a spicy Thai stir-fried noodle dish. The dish is believed to have originated in the Central Plains region of Thailand. The dish is made with wide rice noodles, vegetables, and meat, typically chicken, beef, or seafood, seasoned with soy sauce, fish sauce, and chili peppers.”

Used to be my favorite Thai restaurant, but the recent owners / management have really let the place go. Food is now hit or miss, used to be perfect everytime. The server could not look any more irritated if she tried. Been going here for many years, but won't be bothering anymore.

Above excellent service. Food wasn’t to my tasting but I’m picky. Definitely give them a chance.

Amazing food. Awesome vegan options. My kids love it too. Can't get enough. A little gem in Apple Valley. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Vegetarian options: Most dishes can be made with tofu and without fish sauce.

We've been going to Taste of Thaiyai for over 12 years. The food used to be amazing but food quality and service have tanked dramatically over the last 3 visits (1 year span) Unfortunately today was our last time. Wait times are long due to being short on staff, rice that came with the Masman curry was a mush, pad thai was very sweet, cream cheese puffs were warm and the waitress didn't check back with us. The only thing we enjoyed were the vegetarian egg rolls.

The food has changed and quality has been inconsistent. The rice is mushy, Pad Thai is way too sweet and the noodles are overcooked. Service has also gone downhill. We have been coming to Taste of Thaiyai for many years and sadly I don't think we'll be back.
