My favorite indian restaurant in the twin cities. Eat here at least once or twice a month

Beer on tap and a soda machine - but I HAD to get an ice cold bottled Indian beer to go with my food. We were also promptly given ice cold water which I really appreciate!
The garlic naan was the best I've had!
We also ordered lamb Samosas, lamb Shahi Korma (curry) and Lamb Vindaloo (curry) - all was delicious. The curry comes with rice. We ordered our curry medium heat and we thought what we recieved was a good medium. Felt the spice but I wasn't suffering haha.
The service was really great too.
It was a wednesday and there was no wait, but it was busy. I can see why! Great place!

Just moved to the area and decided to try out an Indian place near me with my regular order at most Indian restaurants (pakora - usually veg or chili, rogan josh curry, garlic naan, salt lassi, and gulab jamun). Overall, compared to every other Indian place that I've tried this same order (in three different states), this one is probably the lowest of all of them. Usually, when I order pakora, I am expecting them to be more like a fritter rather than filling encased in a batter (of which they serve the latter; I looked this up, and apparently there are regional differences that I wasn't aware of, and they were decent anyway). The chutneys that came with them are your usual tamarind and mint, and these were also just okay (I've had much better elsewhere). The salt lassi was also just decent, so I would probably try a different flavor instead next time. The gulab jamun was the highlight of everything and was actually probably one of the best I've ordered at any Indian restaurant, so I would definitely come back just to order those. Where I had bigger issues were with the rogan josh and garlic naan. Usually, I expect rogan josh to have a deeper orange-red color, but this one was a brighter orange than most makhani curries I've ever ordered and even tasted like a lamb makhani. I'm not entirely convinced the restaurant even gave me the correct curry, and the lamb meat itself was very disappointing regardless (cubed into very small chunks, I prefer a lamb curry with much larger, meatier chunks, but there was barely anything solid in this dish). The naan was cold, and the garlic was basically nonexistent (for context, I took this order to-go and ate within ten minutes of receiving my order, so I've never had a cold naan issue before, especially since it comes wrapped in foil). I'm not sure whether the restaurant was just having an off-day, and I would like to give them another chance by trying other dishes, but overall, I would not recommend their lamb curries or pakoras. I will likely give the garlic naan another chance since I can't imagine it will always be like that, despite my disappointment. I will absolutely get gulab jamun every time I come, and maybe try out a sweeter lassi (I usually like salty, but this one just didn't do it for me, unfortunately).
Since I ordered to-go, I can't say much about the service other than that I was only greeted and acknowledged by one of the two staff members when I came in while the other seemed to ignore me (maybe he was aware that the other staff member was planning to help me and just left it to him, I'm not sure). The ambience was decent, music wasn't too loud, can't say much else since I was only in there for a short time. I will probably come back in a few months to try some other items, I'm just disappointed that they missed the mark on my regular order.

Absolutely the best Indian restaurant in the North metro area.
I've never been to India yet, but I have eaten my fare share Indian food.
You know a place is authentic when it is consistently full of people from that country there.
Where at Namaste the locals come eat here and take bags of stuff to go,........so there you have it.
We have eaten here 8 times or so in the past year, it has been consistently excellent in every way, from service to food.
It's so consistent that I have ordered something different every time and been absolutely blown away by their food.
I'm fully confident you'll have a good experience too.
They just added seating for 25 more people. Went thru a nice renovation.
Very pretty all new!

It was good but nothing special. Service was fine and it arrived in an appropriate time. No complaints but also nothing to rave about. 🤷♀️
Quality food and a pleasant interior. I have eaten here multiple times, and intended to again. The quality of service varies from excellent to poor. Still 100% worth it though.

I've been going to Namaste for many years and love it but have recently been more and more frustrated by their timing. Specifically, when you order online, you don't know how long it will take until you pay. FYI, their order timing is always at least 45min out from when you order and more often around 60min.
This leads to frustrations and unmet expectations that makes me recommend Namaste on weekends when you have time but almost never on weekdays since you have to wait so long. Go to India Palace in Roseville and get it quicker instead.

I'm white so take my review with that perspective lol. I'm not Indian cuisine expert by any means. I've always loved the food I've gotten from here. Yes, the wait is 30+ minutes to get your food after ordering but that's because they make everything to order. Also 30 minutes isn't actually that long for a sit down restaurant so all you people complaining about that need to calm down and let it go lol. The whole team here is kind, attentive, and great at their jobs. I also love how they play music videos on the TV. Very fun!

The place is under renovation. No where in their website it is updated that the inside is closed for renovations and they have limited seating outside. They should have shut it down for renovations rather than causing inconvenience to the customers or just do take-aways. After waiting for 30 mins, we were seated, but with the mosquitoes, it's impossible to eat outside. They switched off the lights when we were still dining, and one of the server (not the one serving our table) was in so much frustration. He doesn't even know how to talk to clients. We asked him to turn the lights on again, but that never happened. We finally asked them to pack the food and left without eating the food.
We have visited this place before but never experienced anything like this.

Namaste India Grill is the best. I've tried many dishes on the menu, and everything has been either good or outstanding. The restaurant is often busy during dinner time, but the service is fast. The bhature, tawa chicken, chicken saag, and lamb seekh kebab are my family's favorites. Overall, Namaste has reasonable prices for truly exceptional food.

I used to detest Indian food until I came here against my wishes on a business lunch. Although I haven’t been too adventurous yet, the coconut curry chicken and naan is heavenly. It can be a little slow, but we plan accordingly when we go here about once per month.
