Love this place! I've been going here since college and I recommend it to anyone who comes to the Austin area. The burgers are delicious and the milk shakes can't be beat! The staff is always friendly and the new owners are wonderful too!

Stuck here in Austin as trucker wanted to get food so I’d figured I’d try something local so the TenderMaid was closest and I thought it to be unique and so was my experience. Service with a smile is an understatement good spirited and engaging which made the sandwich taste all the better and the shake was good as well.

Serving since 1938, this outside table and take-out only joint hit the spot for lunch. We had a “loose meat” burger and nachos with extra Hormel chili. Friendly staff!

We saw this restaurant on John McGiverns Main Street and adjusted our trip so we could go there. Loosemeat sandwich and real ice cream milkshakes! Delicious messy food made with love. Just go there!

I’ve been there twice now with my boyfriend. The food is so yummy and filling. The malts are amazing and unique flavors. The people who run it are so kind and greet you with a big smile and warm thank you. You can tell they like what they do and appreciate the business. I can’t wait to introduce my out of town friends and family to this tiny feel good place. It is just amazing.

We stopped here after visiting the nearby Spam museum. We are visiting from San Antonio, Texas. The friendly staff explained the options and a little history. We sat outside. We enjoyed the Tootsie Rolls included with our purchase
Parking: We were able to park our travel trailer for free on the street, but on busier days it might mean walking a few blocks.
