I love when a restaurant takes my request for extra pickles very seriously.

Serving since 1938, this outside table and take-out only joint hit the spot for lunch. We had a “loose meat” burger and nachos with extra Hormel chili. Friendly staff!

I’ve been there twice now with my boyfriend. The food is so yummy and filling. The malts are amazing and unique flavors. The people who run it are so kind and greet you with a big smile and warm thank you. You can tell they like what they do and appreciate the business. I can’t wait to introduce my out of town friends and family to this tiny feel good place. It is just amazing.

We stopped here after visiting the nearby Spam museum. We are visiting from San Antonio, Texas. The friendly staff explained the options and a little history. We sat outside. We enjoyed the Tootsie Rolls included with our purchase

Parking: We were able to park our travel trailer for free on the street, but on busier days it might mean walking a few blocks.

No hate for the history here, but it's basically a depression-era recipe that never changed. Dry loose meat sandwiches with minimal seasoning. A little better if you add chili and cheese, I guess.
