Always leave positive reviews to support businesses - with that being said, our group was very disappointed with the service and quality of food received while visiting Slim’s. Immediately, you could sense they didn’t want people to come in, even though it was before 8:00pm. Took a very long time to get waited on to order. Food took unusually long to receive and portion sizes were small for the price. One guy in our group waited an hour to get his pizza, ultimately just getting it to go because everyone else had finished their food before his got to the oven. Not exaggerating! Understaffed and lack of care makes this a serve yourself establishment for everything - which is fine if that’s what they are going for. Wish our experience was different as we visit this area often.

I drove all the way from Rogersville, Tennessee to have a cheeseburger at Slims and was it ever good!!! Oh and I stopped by to see my sister and her great husband for Bemidji. I'll be back again next summer for another great cheeseburger and I'll swing by sis's house just to say Hi..
I have been coming here regularly for quite a while and it sucks to have to update a review to negative. The level of customer service is terrible, 2 bartenders, 11 people in the bar and all the bartenders do is visit with the people they know. I am sitting at the bar and have to get up and walk over to the corner of the bar to get a drink. I waited almost 10 minutes just to see if they would check on me, nothing. A customer on crutches had to get up from his table and stand at the bar because no one would check on them to get their tab. This is a great bar/grill, but I'm going to need to find a new place, terrible service. Sad.

Awesome little dive bar in Bemidji! We stopped in to give it a try based on reviews, and had a very good experience overall. The staff was very friendly despite being a pretty packed house. The building is very small, so I would imagine it gets very full sometimes. I assume due to the limited space behind the bar, the menu is a little limited - there is no fryer so items like fries or onion rings are not available. However, the burgers were fresh and flavorful, and the buns were soft and delicious- the menu gave us awesome local sourcing for the beef and buns which was cool. I wish I could have had fresh fries to dip into their awesome bbq sauce, but the burger itself made up for it. We both enjoyed the lunch and would not hesitate to come back next time we are in Bemidji.

It’s the local log cabin bar! We LOVE the burgers. Made on a flattop, they are juicy and so flavorful! The horseradish cheese is amazing we enjoy dipping our potato chips in Beer’s BBQ Sauce! Staff is wonderful, clean environment, cozy vibe. Love when the windows are painted with festive scenes in the winter. Slim’s is a local treasure!
