We enjoyed our Christmas Eve meal here. Melaina at the bar was so pleasant helped select the ideal pre dinner cocktail.

Trent, our table server, was attentive. His recommendations were spot on.

The food was amazing. The Hashbrowns are simply amazing. One had steaks, the other sea bass. Both were cooked to perfection.

We will be back! Merry Christmas.

Bought a charcuterie board. Meat was very dry and not edible. The prosciutto was very hard and couldn’t be unwrapped it was that stiff. The salami was hard around the edges. It appeared the meat was either very old or sat out way too long. The waitress took it to the manager, waitress brought out four fresh prosciutto no offer on salami slices. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. First and last visit. The soap dispenser wasn’t working in one of the restrooms. I had to go into a different one to wash hands. I reported it to the staff.

We decided to try out Prime rather than head downtown for a nice “fancy” annual dinner. We should have went downtown, it would have been better and cheaper.

The space is clearly set up for “family style” seating, with a couple of two-tops squeezed into the walk aisles that barely accommodate their food trolly ala Manny’s. Otherwise you’re in large booths set for 6-8 or the bar.

They advertise being certified to serve A5 Kobe, the pinnacle of steaks, which requires a level of skill and knowledge to properly prepare it beyond the simple procurement of said cut of beef. The image is a 6 oz portion of Kobe that I was served, with a very clear line of silver skin / connective tissue which simply should not be present in actual Kobe being properly prepared. This was, at best Wagyu, but likely regular old USDA prime fillet. Which, is a good cut of meat when priced correctly, but this is not a $45/oz cut of meat.

The server had no real clue and quickly punted to the owner, I don’t really blame her though because this shouldn’t have left the kitchen under the moniker of “A5 Kobe.” (Which is what the menu states.) The server was kind and accommodating as best she could be, but over worked for a “hundred dollars a top” level restaurant, another management oversight, despite employing multiple teenage bussers to lighten the load.

The owner did bring out a replacement cut of meat, which was at least 10 oz if not 12 oz, and comped a dessert. The replacement was done better, and for sure Wagyu, but was still improperly trimmed with some silver skin / connective tissue and didn’t rise to the level advertised.

The dessert we selected was a restaurant staple, “Chocolate Lava Cake.” This was a comped dessert and we received 2x of the servings, likely to address the main course issue, and it was also not as advertised. We received two flourless chocolate tortes with no “lava” inside of them. There was a raspberry and chocolate drizzle on the plate, but “cake” and “lava” were nowhere to be found.

TL;DR- If you go here, stick to the cheap staples like a pork chop. If you want something “high end,” go to a restaurant with an actual chef and not a place set up by an entrepreneur who watched “The Bear” that one time.

Had a wonderful meal celebrating my wife’s birthday. We loved the wedge salad and wagyu steak. It has a Minneapolis steakhouse atmosphere while being located in the north metro. This was our third visit and we actually had a same waitress on our first visit and she remembered us.

Great Steakhouse with delicious food.

My work does a company holiday dinner every year and we eat at a steak house we usally eat at either 6Smith or Baldamar but we decided to try a new place.
Where to start. 3 people ordered The dry aged Ribeye 2 people ordered the Centercut strip and 3 people ordered the Filet Mignon. The steaks were cooked to medium rare perfectly had a good crust but for prime cuts not the most tenderd. The Ribeys had little to no marbling and little dry not alot of juice. The steak topper was OK asked for a side of there steak butter and was not able to get a side of it your had to order the whole steak topper option we ordered 2 of them did not see any butter on the plate mut have melted in with the rest of the toppings. Very disappointed.
On the the sides we ordered the Mac and cheese , truffle fries , Million Dollar potatos.
The mac and cheese a little bland and a small amount of sauce.
The million dollar potatos were under cooked and very dry no flavor.
Sad to say the best thing we ate were the fries perfectly cooked great flavor and the sauce was very good.
On to dessert.we order 3 different desserts the Cheese Cake ,Bread Pudding and Tiramisu.
The Tiramisu was good but average taste. The Bread Pudding was OK The whiskey sauce was overpowering and the apple chutney had good flavor. The Cheese Cake was not good at all 2 small dabs of whipped cream 1 small sliced strawberry and for $16 was super tiny. if you have ever ordered cheese cake anywhere else in the world this was about 1/3 the size of any normal piece anywhere.
We had excellent service.
So when comparing other high end steak houses in Minnesota would not recommend. I had great hopes for this place as it is not far from my house.
