I can't rave enough about 98 Pounds Buffet—it's the ultimate spot for an all-you-can-eat adventure that leaves you stuffed and smiling. Walking in, we were instantly welcomed by the friendly host who guided us to our table with genuine enthusiasm, no lines or attitude, just pure hospitality. Our server, Alex, was a standout: always checking in with a smile, refilling drinks before they hit empty, and offering spot-on suggestions for must-try dishes without any pressure. The entire staff hustled seamlessly, keeping the buffet lines fresh and tables spotless, making the whole experience feel effortless and upscale.
Now, the food? Absolute game-changer for buffet lovers. This place packs a massive spread of Chinese classics, fresh sushi rolls, and seafood delights that punch way above their weight (pun intended). We loaded up on crispy General Tso's chicken that was tangy and perfectly spiced, buttery crab legs that cracked open to pure heaven, and nigiri so fresh it melted in your mouth. The dim sum selection—steamed buns, har gow, and siu mai—was steaming hot and flawlessly executed, while the veggie stir-fries added that vibrant crunch. Even the dessert station shone with mango pudding and sesame balls that weren't overly sweet, just the right finish to round out the feast. Endless variety, top-notch quality, and everything replenished lightning-fast.
For unbeatable value and service that treats you like family, 98 Pounds Buffet is a Bloomington gem. We'll be piling our plates high again soon—don't miss it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

There is a lot of variety here! The chicken wings are large and delicious. There are a lot of shrimp dishes, which I appreciated. In general, I felt like the food was good and the service was great.

I was there on last Saturday I my daughter and her 3 kids very bad experience my grandson started to eat some fried rice and a dahm cockroach came crawling out of the rice almost dead but made itself out of the rice the owner gave me my money back plus Xtra I had been told that it had been remodeled because of its roaches last time. Please check your food before eating it

They have calamari, sushi, and are cheaper than buffets in the city. That's a win in my book

Live Life

My mother and nephew went there to eat lastnight and WHILE EATING I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS A ROACH BUT IT LOOKED LIKE IT FOR SURE CRAWLING OUT OF THEIR FOOD this was there overall experience... very very very disappointing and disgusting I couldnt belive my eyes when my mother sent me this video. For some reason this review wont let me add the video. Crazy. HEALTH INSPECTION AND WHATEVER OTHER INSPECTION NEEDED NEED TO BE DONE ASAP... DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR A BUFFET!!!

For $20 buffet style food, the quality is very good. There are plenty of people to keep fresh food coming. Includes sushi as well that is good, above grocery store sushi, but below dedicated sushi restraunt. Right where you expect. Service is top notch, quickly clearing plates, and refilling drinks. Highly recommend

The prices had gone up since the last time I was here. Almost right at $20 for a dinner buffet. Not as many food choices as usual and the food was not near as hot as it usually is in temperature. I would have liked to see more dishes with vegetables in them. Otherwise the food had good or decent flavor. Service was wonderful. The best dish I had today was the fried bananas.

One of my fav buffets. The lo mein is the best of any buffets in the twin cities. Smaller selection of foods, great variety for sushi, and overall great quality and taste. Friendly staff and clean environment. Miss the soft serve green tea ice cream :'( Def recommend.

The first thing that happened when I walked in was one of the workers immediately tried to overcharge me; the lunch menu said $16.98 he was asking for $21 then lowered it to $19.98. I just took my money and left.

Figure out your pricing and post it, I'm not gonna pay more than what you advertised.

A really good no frills Asian Buffet.

They do sushi rice correctly, so any roll you get is better than most hipster sushi restaurants. If you like traditional sushi maki rolls, the price is worth it, just don't expect a huge variety or sashimi grade fish. The spicy tuna, spicy krab, and eel rolls were just as good as my home base highly rated traditional Japanese sushi restaurant.

The hot dishes aren't bad either. Better flavor than most Asian Buffets we've been to.
