Cowboy Jacks Bloomington

Beware... this location has questionable tipping practices. My bill total was for $13.08 ($12.00 subtotal + $1.08 tax). When paying, using their electronic card reader at the table, I was prompted with a 20%, 22%, or 25% tip option. I selected the 20% tip button, which should have been a $2.62 tip for a total amount of $15.70. My credit card statement showed a charge of $17.30, which ends up being a 32.3% or $4.22 tip. Why was I charged an additional $1.60 and where did that money go? Did it go to the server? Did it go to Cowboy Jack's? I typically wouldn't leave a review prior to speaking with a manager, but I have tried calling multiple times during business hours and no one has yet to answer the phone.

Visited 01MAY2023 for lunch. There was only one waitress working who also served as hostess so it took a while for my party of three to get seated. When we did get seated the hostess/waitress told us that we could sit anywhere.
I ordered the cowboy club sandwich and tater tots which didn't take too long to arrive. The club sandwich was good but the tater tots were a bit cold.
Visited again 17NOV2025 for dinner. The service was excellent. Plenty of staffing with friendly staff.
Unfortunately, my meal was disappointing. I ordered the small cowboy cookout platter. My 3 meat selections were pork ribs, beef brisket, and chicken wings. The ribs and brisket came with sauce on them. I'm not a fan of the sauce and should've ordered it on the side. All 3 meats were dry. The positive is there was plenty of meat for $22, unfortunately none of it tasted good. The dinner came with baked beans and coleslaw which were actually good. You get a 3rd side with this platter so you better have an appetite if you're eating alone.

Anderson is my dawg, my brother in arms. Easily the best of the security at Bloomington Jacks! This man saved my life dragging me from the trenches. Definitely recommend coming here, even if it's only for him. #whiteboymob

I’m really frustrated with my experience here. I came here to grab a bite to eat, only to find out that the place turns 21+ after 9 PM. Honestly, what’s the point of calling it a restaurant if people can’t even come in to eat at normal evening hours unless they’re over 21?
What if a group of friends just wants a late dinner? Turning away customers because of an age restriction that isn’t clearly advertised feels completely unfair and unnecessary. If they want to act like a nightclub after 9, they should at least make that obvious ahead of time instead of surprising people at the door.
Definitely not a place I’ll be returning to.

Cowboy Jack’s is always a good time — good food, good drinks, and the kind of laid-back vibe that makes you want to hang out for a while. The staff is chill and the place stays lively without feeling crazy. What really makes it better, though, is Anderson working security. Dude is professional but relaxed, keeps things smooth, and makes you feel safe without killing the vibe. You can tell he’s paying attention, and because of that, everyone can just enjoy themselves. Cowboy Jack’s is solid on its own, but Anderson definitely takes it up a notch.

Night started off rough felt like the line was long when it was cold and only certain people were being responded to until a friendly security guard named Anderson came and explained the whole process. Only suggestion clone more of this man!!!!

Anderson is the best!

The bouncer John made my experience 10/10. It was exhilarating. If you haven’t met John you haven’t lived.

Anderson, one of the security, was outrageously attentive to the situation that my friend's and I delt with. I'm sure it would have been trouble if it wasn't for his help. I am only writing this review because I felt taken care of and safe. Anderson handled everything perfectly. I'm definitely coming back. Everything was great. He was the cherry on top

Cowboy Jack's Bloomington has a lot going for it with wonderful staff including Anderson who is one of the bouncers. The other bouncers and servers and bartenders are all wonderful too! The crowd is very different from downtown and not nearly as crowded. Almost always a good time with good people. Music/DJ can be hit or miss. The number of people that come to Bloomington Cowboy Jack's continues to diminish as they decided to do away with their drink specials and raised their drink prices higher than any of the neighboring bars. This means crowd sizes most nights are half of what they were just a year or two ago and some weekend nights it's maybe only at 25% capacity. Pool table in the back stays busy most nights and the food is very good.
