Samurai sushi and hibachi

I visited this restaurant twice in the past week and encountered the same issues both times. The ingredients did not seem very fresh—both the fried chicken and the beef had a strong bloody taste. This wasn’t the pleasant umami flavor you might expect from a rare steak, but rather an unpleasant, almost nauseating odor.

Another recurring problem was that the number of sushi and rolls served never matched what we ordered. The first time, I noticed this discrepancy and pointed it out, but the server insisted that I hadn’t ordered those items (even though we were certain that I had). During my second visit, I deliberately counted: we ordered 11 types of sushi (2 pieces each), but only received 9. We ordered 4 types of rolls, but only 3 were served. When I asked about the missing roll, the staff initially said they had forgotten and would bring it right away. Later, they told me I had to finish the sushi already on the table before they could serve me the rest—otherwise, they would deduct money for food waste.

I’m not sure if this behavior constitutes some kind of discrimination, but I want to make it clear: I ordered a quantity of food that we were confident we could finish. You accepted my order, so you should fulfill it—completely and transparently. If I fail to finish everything, I accept the penalty. That’s my responsibility. But your responsibility is to serve what I ordered, not arbitrarily withhold items without informing me.

The rice is incorrect for sushi. They use long grain, which is a little bit off, slightly mealy. If you have a large party, make sure you tell everyone not order an appetizer first if everyone isn't ordering an appetizer. 3 people in our group of 11 ordered appetizers, we waited nearly an 1.5hrs before the rest of the food arrived. They told me that is customary for people here. We watched other people eat dinner and leave before our order arrived.

The food here was amazing. The sushi tasted really fresh. The place feels cozy, the right vibe to relax and enjoy your meal.

The staff were pretty friendly and checked on us at the right times without rushing us. Prices are fair for the quality, and the portions are just right.

I’ll definitely come back again.

Had a great time celebrating my birthday and Hibachi show was truly amazing!! Peak service!!!
As a non-pork eater, there were great option in both hibachi and sushi rolls. Shout out to my server Oyu for especially making the birthday festive!

Fun time for watching some hibachi cooking! There were lots of people celebrating different occasions (from what we could tell from the singing 😉). Good drink menu and the sake flight was something a little fun and different. We left full and satisfied!

Food was delicious and fresh. I came in a party of five, and we were seated within 10 minutes, with the chef there within 25. I’d recommend the fillet mignon or the NY strip steak.
