Stopped by Smokestack Express today for lunch with my daughter and my brother and hands down ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The brisket was tender, ribs were perfect, beans had a ton of flavor, Mac n cheese was delicious and don’t sleep on the sauces. Personally I really liked the spicy and the hot but that sweet was also amazing as well. Trevor and his crew do an amazing job. Everything was cooked to perfection. If you’re in the Bloomington Mn area this is a must stop place for Que! Great job Smokestack Express. 5 ⭐️’s all the way.

We hosted friends that have traveled the country for BBQ. Was I nervous to share the Meat Pack 1 with them? Nope! I knew they'd be blown away and I was right! Everyone had a different favorite which is a sign you can't go wrong with anything from Smokestack Express! As they were leaving I suggested we plan to meet them at the shop and enjoy it again. They laughed and said, "Nope. This was perfect and we want to repeat tonight. Taking our time, tasting all the different things. That's what good food is all about. But invite fewer people so we can all have more to eat!".

While the food is tasty, we felt like we just got ripped off. Came our first time towards end of October and had happened to read in a local group that they were also having free samples of their smoked turkey. We tried it and liked it. We asked if they were taking orders for them and how much they were. Person said $100 which we thought was steep but figured hey we weren't cooking it. Go to pick it up tonight and get charged another $44 for it. For almost $150 total we could have bought several turkeys and cooked it ourselves. Granted this was our first time there when we ordered and had only ever seen the one post about the turkey tasting or meatloaf posts. We never saw any promotion about pricing of the turkeys. Won't be going back again for anything as we feel ripped off.

Great food! I was really impressed by the staff and the tastiness of the food! Plus there's free ice cream for dessert! There's about 5 tables and a bar to eat in.
The meats were cooked to perfection; they were tender and melt in the mouth. The tastes are unique but not super specific. 9/10 lunch place; not somewhere you'd go every day, but nice once a week or so.

Small and simple place in Bloomington with some of the best BBQ I've had this far north!
The ribs were absolutely fantastic, the dry rub they used for it was perfect! The brisket too, a nice solid mix of fatty and non-fatty cuts, a chicken salad that's awesome, and the service was so friendly that I almost feel bad for just doing takeout! (Though the place is small, I suggest take out here anyway)
I'll definitely come back again! Thanks again for fantastic food!
