Timber Lodge Steakhouse

After 15+ years of enjoying the fun and great food at Timber Lodge Steakhouse this visit will be my last. Forever. The service was good. The food was tasty. But they have completely ruined this restaurant. I have always enjoyed ordering my favorite Northwoods icons from the menu - now it is bland and dull. No more mosquito bites. No more potato skin canoes. No more wild rice soup included with your dinner. I hope somebody enjoys the new and "improved" overpriced lunch counter that this place has become, because I won't be back.

Liked the north woods lodge decor. Steak dinners are a bit pricey for me. Burgers with fries are about $14. Burger was good. Service good.

If you like garlic, no, if you eat cloves of garlic for a snack, this is your place! You'll be greeted by a host who will make a distasteful comment about your appearance as he leads you to your seat. Once settled in, the waitress will let you know she sees you but it will be a hot minute before she can visit your table because the tactful host as sat only her section. Your waitress will be very nice and get your food right.The food itself will be both over and under seasoned. Your protein will always be well-done, but in varying degrees based on your preference. It will have no seasoning. Neither will your veggies. However, your bread, butter, and potatoes will more than make up for it. The smell of garlic will hit your nostrils long before you see your food. Prepare for a spicy journey and head down conversation, your breath will scare vampires for miles. After you've finished, I'd skip dessert and get before the garlic hits your intestines. Don't worry about avoiding the host on the way out, he's socializing with the bartender.

I appreciate the fish and chips and the cheese curds. I had to ask another staff member to help me out with a favor; the first wasn't accommodating with my request but the second was willing to help. They didn't seem happy to be there.

Great place to eat. They have the best prime rib! Our server Bonnie was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great steak dinner.

Impeccable service! Seating was prompt, initial engagement with server was excellent! Delicious bread served prior to meal. I ordered Fillet 7 oz medium rare and it was tough on the inside but delicious on the more well cooked sides. Meal ended with excellent service!

I love this place! So sad there is only one left in the twin cities. The steak & walleye was amazing!

We were seated right away and the service was decent. They were way over priced though for what you got. I didn't like paying extra for a vegetable and the potato casserole was cold and gross. I left disappointed with my steak and I wished I had ordered the fish, which I have enjoyed in the past. We live really close but I doubt we'll go back again. Too bad because they have the potential to be an awesome place to get a good meal. My kids really enjoyed their kids meals and it was nice that they could choose a dessert that came with it. They thought that was pretty cool.

Food was way overpriced for what you received, have not been there in about 3 years and the only thing that has changed is the price... same old dark and dreary decor. Wouldn't recommend if you want a good dining experience.

Despite the prices, you get such good helping that it stretched easily into two meals. I'm not sure how much longer this location will be open, so if you happen to like the food, get it before it closes.

We visited with my partner's parents a while back. They had a gift card that was probably 15 years old but the staff was awesome about it and they honored the card. On top of that the service was quick and the food was great! The chef even put together a vegan option for me that wasn't on the menu.

Huge portions and fantastic service. Prices are a tad high but I think it is worth it. Sad to see this chain almost gone. We gladly stop in when we are in the area.
