My mom lives in Sparta, WI and travels to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for medical treatment. Last month after a doctor's appointment in Rochester my mom and I were passing through Caledonia when we decided to have dinner at this little local diner, Elsie's. My mom is missing half her stomach so she orders off the kid's menu if we go out to eat since the kid's menu has a much smaller portion. My mom tried to order a burger with fries off the kid's menu here and was told no in that she is an adult therefore she needs to order off the adult menu. I asked if she could order half an order off the adult menu but was told no to that too. I tried to explain that my mom cannot finish large portions of food and the employee told us we could get a to go box and take the unfinished food to go. We just turned around and left and decided to take our business elsewhere. My mom has never once been told she cannot order off the kid's menu or order half the size of an item on the adult menu, his was a first for us. How rude. One of my friends lives in Caledonia but works in La Crosse told me that non-locals there often get treated poorly.

We hired Elsie’s to cater our wedding. The staff that worked the event were great! Very attentive when people ran out of things. Also super reasonably priced! We also rented a refrigerated trailer which came in super handy.

I came in there with my children ordered a pizza that was to a Hawaiian it was just cheese and pineapple it was the worst pizza ever!!! Employees are young and should wear. Uniforms instead of short shorts. Thought it would be a nice place to eat never again.. gas station pizza is so much better then this place not clean at all bathrooms all ran down women’s bathroom had no toilet paper in the stalls

Went to eat and play Bargo as advertised today. No Bargo, no explanation, and no apology. Left and went next door for Mexican. Nothing like driving an hour and a half for an event that did not happen, and not even an explanation or apology from the staff.

Oh man you guys had the trailer at the Waukon Fair I want to tell you your food was amazing I got the mac and cheese with the brisket we worked Motocross there was three of us that came up and got it and I mean it was absolutely amazing I give it a 20 star rating if I could the two young ladies that were in there for amazing they were friendly they were very nice I would highly recommend if you get to Caledonia
The place was alright, the service was great, tho. Our waitress was very sweet and checked on us often. The food wasn't great, unfortunately, and the salad bar was just ok. I ordered a California burger and the patty had to have been frozen with no seasoning at all. There was no flavor whatsoever. It was worth a try but will not go back.

Exactly right. Righteous BLT with slabs of fresh cooked bacon and an honest lemon meringue pie, very reasonably priced, with friendly service, in a quiet family restaurant. Can’t wait to come back again.
