Place was extremely busy, too busy for the staff to competently run the restaurant. Not sure if there are staffing issues, but the two waitresses wasn't enough to handle the amount of business they had. Food quality was spotty. The breakfast burrito I ordered was fine, but an order of biscuits and gravy we had gotten was not cooked properly. Biscuits didn't even fully rise when cooking. Sauce was fairly flavorless. This would be fine if it was a cheap diner, but we ended up paying 80$ for five entrees and a malt.

I’ve always heard good things about this place so we decided to check it out. We definitely will not be going back. We waited about 45 minutes for our food, while the table with SIX people that got there after us got their food before us. The table next to us was told that the kitchen ran out of hash-browns, we weren’t told anything about that, they just gave us diced potatoes and didn’t say a word. The waitress never even came and told us that the kitchen was running behind, just helped the tables next to us. The food was okay but definitely not worth the wait.

Cute place in Cannon Falls. Hit it at a busy Saturday mornings so not surprised by 15 min. wait to be seated. But after 45 min. waiting for food and seeing many tables seated well after us getting their food we were told it would be still be another 10-15 min. before food ready. Server clearly forgot to submit the order. When order came toast was burned, potatoes cold, and forgot bacon (but still charged for it). Can forgive a lot of things. Especially when short staffed. Things happen, but no accountability was the issue. Never acknowledged the mistakes or the wait. Shouldn’t take 90 min. for a breakfast place.

What a lovely little diner! Nice menu and the breakfast I ordered was just as good as I'd hoped. Friendly staff. Quick service. Attentive but not hovering. Didn't feel rushed. Prices were very reasonable.

Really good food at reasonable prices. Hash browns $2. Donut ball appetizers were perfect! Meal portions generous and large. Very full. Good coffee. Everything was fresh and from scratch!

This is more of a modern diner. What they do best is evident in their food. The ingredients are fresh and things appear to be made from scratch. The quality of their food is vastly superior to most diners. Service from the kitchen was a bit slow, even though most people in the restaurant had already been served. Prices are slightly higher than a normal diner, but the value is there in the food. The sausage links are about twice the girth of normal breakfast sausages and they are absolutely delicious.

Great service! We had to change our plans and ended up at Nick’s an hour before they closed with a group of 7. They pulled a table together for us and we never felt rushed. Most of the group ordered off the lunch menu and generally enjoyed our food (Cali burger, BLT, the spicy burger, hot roast beef, the mess skillet, and the french toast). Some of the sides could use more seasoning but the portions are generous. Will come back.

The owners of this place are such nice people. We came through Cannon Falls and wanted to get a quick lunch but something nicer than fast food. We were so happy to find Nick's. The owners of the restaurant happened to be there when we ordered and they recommended a few things for us to try. Their monster tots and fried potato salad were insane. They're chicken salad croissant special was also delicious and they had some mini donut holes with a cream frosting that my kids wouldn't put down. You can tell the owners thought out the menu and really took time to visualize what experience they wanted to give to their customers! The restaurant is very clean, seating is comfortable, they have a liquor selection and they made incredible pies. We didn't get a chance to grab one this time but we'll be back for sure to grab some pies before Thanksgiving! 100% recommend you check this place out! SO GOOD!!!

Vegetarian options: The owners are so caring they'd gladly make you something in vegetarian form!! Plus they had options already on their menu!
