Had my birthday dinner there. They made it very special. Thank you!!
Excellent food and service at Riverside Tavern!! The crispy panko crusted walleye and the salmon were both delicious! We topped it off with NY cheesecake. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Great food, excellent service and the remodel is gorgeous! This was our first trip back to the Riverside since the reopening and being locals, we will definitely be back!

Excited to have this new, old spot in town! We’ve been coming here for 20 years and I love what the new folks have done with the renovations. I’ve only stopped in twice and both times have been just okay.
The first time, I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes. One bite of the mashed potatoes and I made the rest of my party double check that I’m not crazy—something about the flavor was off. They agreed. I suspect they use boil in a bag potatoes from Sysco/US Foods or a synthetic butter substitute. Either way, I did mention to the server why the mashed potatoes were the only thing uneaten on the plate. It’s hard to pay $30+ for a piece of salmon and 12 green beans.
The second time, I had the walleye sandwich and it was just okay. The thick panko breading didn’t do anything for the fish and it made me miss a standard beer battered walleye sandwich. With my recommendation, a person in my party ordered a baked potato with their meal. The plate first came with mashed potatoes. Well hey, now I can try again! I’m sure my last experience was just a hiccup. Nope—same weird flavor.
On the topic of weird flavors, Riverside has a similar problem to other Crosslake establishments (such as the Cedar Chest) when it comes to their water and soft drinks. It is very heavy in a mineral-y, iron flavor. I ordered a soda first, but had to pivot to a beer because the mineral flavor is so off putting to me. Local water supply isn’t the establishments fault, but a good filter or reverse osmosis system goes far when a major function of a business is serving beverages.
Good things: the salads are great, the servers have been nice, and the menu is diverse and tempting enough to know I’ll be back for another shot.

The food was tasty, everyone enjoyed their entrees. The portions were huge, almost everyone in our party was able to get a second meal out of their order. The only downsides to this place is that it can be slightly pricey (but again, it's more like you're getting two meals) and it can get pretty loud inside.

Amazing setting & great food
Very good food... Nicely updated place... Finishes all hard surfaces and angles so when it's busy it's extremely loud and hard to have a decent conversation over supper.

The new Riverside Tavern is a great addition to the Crosslake area. My partner and I had dinner there shortly after they opened and had one of the best dining experience to date up North. We had the chicken tika maslasa (Somehow Riverside has mastered making the best version of this Indian dish that I've ever eaten) and a lobster pasta (Which was also superb).
Unfourtanately we went here for lunch on one of our last visits and had a very mediocre experience with their lunch menu. A group of 7 of us tried a variety of their sandwiches and burgers and was left underwhelmed by all of them. I would suggest elevating these menu items considering the price points of them.
Also, the espresso martini was really bad.
Regardless, we will certainly be returning, if anything again for dinner as we had a 10/10 experience with that portion of the menu. Happy to have you in our town, Riverside! See you soon!

Excited to have a new dining spot, BUT, we ordered the salmon spread and brussels spouts as appetizers. The salmon spread was okay, but how do 4 people split only 6 crostini toasts that were impossible to bite into. Brussel spouts were shredded and over done. The burgers were tasty, but onion rings were over cooked and tasteless. I ordered a 2nd glass of wine when my entree came and arrived after I was done eating. Maybe because we were on the patio the service was slow at 2 in the afternoon. Hardly any cars in the parking lot, but maybe the server was new. The building looks nice, but they need a manager or owner to keep tabs on the food coming out and the bar running smoothly. Apparently their is no one around.

So our 4th time there. Beautiful renovation!
Cobb salad excellent, very good quality. Walleye sandwich with panko VERY heavy coated, almost like plaster of Paris! Would not get again. Dinner entrees state choice of potato including hash browns. Both times for dinner no hash browns so don’t put that on the menu. Also states entrees come with a vegetable. Both times it came with a cold cucumber salad,.. very strange. 3x we were there an employee noted that they were short staffed. Walleye entree was dry and overcooked. Swordfish was okay but the chimichurri was overpowered by mint.
Will most likely go back but they have some work to do.

The Riverside Tavern was recently renovated and it couldn’t be better! Amazing views outside, hopefully in the future we see a patio in addition to the deck so more people can be seated outside!
I was home for 4 days and went to Riverside Tavern 4 times. The place is gorgeous with beautiful views and pleasant, knowledgeable, kind staff. The food was delicious. We had three different burgers, house salad, and a fish sandwich.
Great food. Fun happy hour
