I cannot say enough about the service and graciousness of this place! We were supposed to go on the scenic train ride for my mother-in-law‘s 80th birthday celebration. Two days before they had canceled the train ride and we had about 25 people to accommodate. I had called several different restaurants to see if they could help us. Blackwoods not only could accommodate. They gave us a private room and called in a server just for us. (Heather was incredible!) we were also grateful to be able to have the space to celebrate and honor the birthday girl! Thank you so much to Blackwood for helping us out!

Solid place with an expansive menu! The overall ambiance and service were really great. It was a cozy and comfortable space, pleasant to be in and eat a filling meal after a long day.

While the food itself was decent overall, it could be a little hit or miss. Some dishes were very good, like the boundary walleye, and the tater tots that came with my partner's burger were excellent. Other dishes, like the side of seasonal vegetables, were not so great (these vegetables in particular were very undercooked). This said, I think the food was satisfactory as a whole, and my cocktail was very tasty. The menu is large and has an assortment of offerings so I think this is a great spot if you're out with family or a large group!

You'll never find a better restaurant to eat at. Prices are competitive, and the staff makes the experience wonderful. Oh yeah, the kids love the electric train, which makes its way through the restaurant on its own shelf up hi, as well as I do.

Food has always been consistent whenever we visit the area. For the full experience, you must get a table facing the lake.

This restaurant is very clean, cozy, quiet, and spacious. The food is great, and service is great too. Background music is not overbearing or loud, and brings you back in time to a long forgotten era. I visit here on occasion with family. I rarely eat out but this is always my first choice for a low key place to share great food and conversation.

Server had his guaranteed tip (large group) so ignored us as much as he could. Used to love this place. Won’t bother in the future.

As soon as we entered into the door, the host stated that kitchen closes at 9pm and it was only 8:30pm and they close at 10pm. She said we could do take out if we wanted too but we declined. As we walked back to our car, there was another car that showed up and we were looking up another restaurant to eat. I told my boyfriend to wait and see if they get declined… we didn’t see them come out so we drove by the door and they were getting seated. Really disappointed and will never attempt to walk in there again. And I will say, we are Asian.

I’ll never understand why one of the best places to eat doesn’t have 5 stars.
This place is so good.
The Mac meatloaf was very unique and definitely raised the bar because no other place can touch this meatloaf. Has a really neat twist to it.
Cornbread was awesome my drink was awesome.
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Duluth. I like that they try to be more unique with their food.

We stopped by this past winter and loved the ambiance and food. A wonderful location to stop-I had the lobster bisque soup here and it was delicious.

Do Not Recommend!! Came here for a nice dinner. Got a table right away. Atmosphere was very classy & comfortable & nice view of the lake. Food came out at a decent time but we were very disappointed with the initial presentation. I ordered the Filet Mignon which said it was 6oz on the menu but looked to be about 3oz at most. Asked for medium rare, definitely not. Very disheartening considering the price. My boyfriend ordered the smoked salmon appetizer and he got just as much food as I did if you count the Ritz Crackers but for less than half the price of mine. We were also charged an extra 1.50 on one of our drinks for absolutely no reason. This is a glorified Applebee's.
