Always a great experience. Staff is friendly and attentive. Very pleased there is a separate vegan menu with great options. Real vegan entrees not just an impossible burger but well thought out entrees with great flavors and "meat" alternatives. Ask for the vegan menu. Other vegetarian items are clearly marked on the regular menu. Thnx for having great vegan options.

The hostess was very rude and when asked if we could sit in bar area she told us there was no room for 5 however there were multiple tables available for 5 people. The lighting is horrible and the food mediocre and overpriced. Skip this place. Very disappointing.

Huge space that can accommodate big crowds. I was really hungry and they didn't have many veggie protein options so I had to get two meals. I started with the butternut squash pasta and then had to follow up with pesto pasta. Portion size was small which is another reason I had to get two meals. This was mid and I was on a road trip so picked this place on a whim. Don't think I would choose it again.

The service and ambiance is great, however the quality of the food is mid, at best. Our server was extremely lovely, attentive, and friendly. There were no issues with her. We love the local ambiance and flair, it makes you feel at home and comfortable, and it is clean. Now on to the quality of the food...We ordered the cubano sandwich and the smoked salmon sandwich. The quality of the meat was not what we expected, and it was a huge let down, which is unfortunate since we have been coming to this restaurant for 10 years, and never had any issues. The quality of the meat reminded us of canned meat, it was watery, lacked flavor, and shredded to heck. If you are going to advertise high quality, locally sourced, or in house smoked meat there are certain standards that are expected of the kitchen, and seems a bit deceptive to serve what we were served today. We are unsure if we will be returning unless there is a notable change to the quality of the food. Please do better

Came here after finishing up a ski trip. Got the breakfast skillet. Was definitely worth it. It had a little too much salt but not too much where it was overpowering. The flavors mixed well together. Would get again. Was a chill place to get together and have a couple drinks. The wait staff was really nice and was able to squeeze in our meal a few minutes before lunch was started. Easy to get to and copious amounts of parking.

We had a group of 12 celebrating a birthday early in evening 5 pm January 13th, 2024. We had appetizers, drinks, main courses and just ordered more drinks when the rude manager lady made it clear that she had another group coming in so she needed the tables even though there were empty equivalent tables near us. We were all put off by her. Most of the food was good& some not ( Wilted lettuce salad & fatty beef tenderloin appetizer. Waitress was pretty overwhelmed, but barely sufficient-forgot mustard I asked for & not very attentive. The manager made us feel like we were a number to be moved along- even before receiving our bills. This visit was very unfortunate as the time before here was top notch.

45 minute wait after ordering. No silverware to be found. Had to go look for it myself after server wandered off. Came up empty. Server comes back with two forks and says he was on a 'scavenger hunt.' Food was meh. They nick you for their credit card fee too. Not great. Would love to say there's a lot better places to eat in Duluth bud sadly that's not true. 3 dollar onion freezer burned onion rings.

I love Tavern on the Hill. The staff are always amazing! Nick is by far my favorite waiter of all time. He always is on top of everything and always kind. One thing my group noticed while in tonight was the ambience has changed noticeably. We come nearly every week for the food, but also the atmosphere. Tonight there was a different type of Playlist playing. I knew immediately something had changed. My group misses the old Playlist. It always made us happy. Everyone would comment on it and sing along each week. Tonight it was generic and basic music that is played everywhere, including walmart.

Stopped by Tavern on the Hill during a road trip back home to the cities from up North. We chose this place because they were able to accommodate a large party of 10 on a rather short notice which was great. When we got there, we saw a huge restaurant/bar sort of style place that seems like one step elevated from a Buffalo Wild Wings like chain with a more modern menu. They offer a big variety of pizzas, rice bowls, salads, burgers, etc. - just a big American menu. I decided to go with the Burrata Insalata Pizza after seeing a picture for it in the lobby waiting. First complaint is that the picture featured cherry tomatoes which were non-existent in my pizza. Despite this, the pizza was good - crispy crust and big piece of burrata. A lot of my friends ordered other more expensive items and were disappointed in "small portion sizes" according to them. The servers were friendly and helpful. Overall, a good stop!

Tavern on the hill is a nice spot to stop with comfortable seating and nice ambiance, good service, a wide ranging menu, and good food. Note: I would give this 3.5 stars if that were possible. I think this place is right in between 3 and 4. Food: I got the salmon salad and fries. The fries were very good and the salad was alright. The fish was quite dry and overcooked. Overall, it was fine but definitely not the nearly "perfectly cooked". Ambiance: this is a fun place for a group. It's upscale, well decorated, and not too loud (though also not awkwardly quiet). Parking: easy in the big parking lot outside Overall, I'd stop here again though I might try a different food item or ask for the fish a little bit less well done.

We have always loved going to Tavern on the Hill, but today we waited 15 minutes to get waited on and after an hour and a half still did not have our food. At one point we watched our order mistakenly given to someone else at the bar. The manager was rude and we were comped one beer out of five drinks. We left without eating.

Some interesting regional food choices. Partner had pizza which was basically good. I had a rice pattie sandwich was to have cheese on....it has very little. So after adding the cranberry sauce and more cheese sauce I requested it was goo. But not great. Too thick a patty and needs more than cheese sauce- needs melted cheese slices. Bread was very good.

Disappointing. We expected better - food, service. Our waiter was overwhelmed by his work and we had to remind him to bring the glass of wine we ordered (when asked if it was Chilean, he said he did not know as he was only 20 and had not tried it!). The salmon salad sounded better than it was - very ordinary. Very noisy and room was uncomfortably cold - would not return.

This restaurant is not far from our home. We try to like it but are consistently disappointed with the service. We walked in, sat at the mostly empty bar, one bartender. She made drinks for the servers until finally I had to get her attention. She came and put the drink coaster in the puddle of water in front of us. I had to ask her to wipe it up. She never came back to even take a drink order so we left. This place used to be great...not anymore. I would not recommend it.

Fried avocado appetizer was very good. Broccoli appetizer was great, macaroni and cheese was above average, wild rice burger was average. Shroom burger was good. I was really IRKED BY THE RESTAURANT CHRGING $4.50 to use a credit card OR debit card. To me this is a money grab and no place did they tell you about this fee ahead of time.
