Their lattes are great. Their baristas are skilled in the art of creating great flavors as well as latte art! They usually have an interesting and delicious milk alternative. Their new café is also quite delightful!
Stopped by Sunday morning to eat. Got seated right away and then got forgotten about. After 20 minutes we had to get waitress attention to get service. I got my coffee shortly after that but it was almost 1/2 hr and my wife still did not even have her coffee. (And we are at a coffee company). A few more minutes went by and noticed others who came in well after us were being served already. Felt bad but we got up and left. We don’t do that but we did.. plus it was not that busy.
The staff was so attentive and welcoming.. great service and such delicious food!

If you are looking for form over function, this is a good place. Service was slow (though kind), food was meh, definitely wasn't worth the price. 2 pieces of very dry sourdough French toast for $15 after waiting for almost 30 minutes with only about 1/4 of the restaurant full.
Bathrooms clearly don't get much attention during the day, the floors were very dirty.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but this was such an unusual (attempted) dine in experience. During a short weekend visit to Duluth, we saw this place was nearby and had decent reviews. We walked into a cute cafe. The host/server approached and very awkwardly asked if we were going to be eating food. We said yes, and said we preferred a booth if possible due to our toddler being with us (I should mention he was well behaved during this whole experience, but he is 2 and can get the urge to wander which is why we said we preferred a booth). The host said she would have to wipe a booth, and then hesitated before going to do so. I was expecting her to tell us the kitchen was closed or something, but saw another table get food. I also thought that her wiping a table was strange because the booths seemed to already be clean but I figured maybe it was their policy. We received menus shortly after sitting down. Then we proceeded to wait for maybe 20 minutes while we watched a couple of people who walked in after us (but appeared to know the host), get cocktails immediately. We were at a central booth next to that table, right in eyesight of 2 servers at the bar. 2-3 different servers walked by several times, and all of them acted like we weren’t there. This is a small cafe and there were maybe 4 tables worth of customers. Normally we would have politely spoke up, but it was a bit unwelcoming from the start and we didn’t want to cause a scene. I felt that somehow we had collectively offended the entire staff by just walking in. Maybe they don’t like kids? We left and went elsewhere, and we certainly won’t be back.

Excellent farm to table. Our waitress was excellent despite her T-shirt describing herself as not like other girls but worse. She was great. The bacon was excellent. The burrito was very large and filling. If you order the Cardamom French toast with mascarpone it is not sweet. It’s more savory. I was expecting it to be sweet and hello cardamom! We’d go again. It seemed like a lot of local regulars visit the place too. We were visiting Duluth for the weekend and the Duluth Grill had a 90 minute wait.

Very cute restaurant, loved the local flower arrangements and general atmosphere. Staff was pleasant but not attentive. The lattes we ordered took a surprising amount of time given they were the only coffees being made. We ordered the French toast and the a la carte eggs and toast. The berry compote was poured with a heavy hand and drenched and overpowered the dish. The eggs were rubbery and lukewarm, comparable to what you’d find at the breakfast buffet at a cheap hotel. Other food that passed by looked great, so we’d be interested to try again even though this trip was disappointing.

If I could give Kitchen & Bar at Duluth Coffee Company 10 stars I would! It was absolutely fabulous!! We just left there a few minutes ago and I'm putting off my sightseeing until I tell everyone who is smart enough to check out this establishment in review...stop scrolling, just go and have breakfast/brunch here!!! My husband and I share breakfast. The two dishes we ordered were an egg, bacon and toast plate ala carte. The bacon is thick sliced and perfectly cooked, the toast is house made wheat sourdough, and the eggs...well eggs are eggs, but these were prepared just right as ordered. But the star of the show is the Trail SHT. It is hands down the best yogurt and granola preparation we've ever tasted: salted maple granola, seasonal fruit compote, lemon zested Greek yogurt and a drizzled local maple syrup. Of course we asked if we could purchase some to take home. Alas, no they don't have a large enough operation to produce take home bags. Duluth is too cold in the winter for me to consider relocating here, but know this...I would highly consider it after tasting this dish! The atmosphere at Kitchen & Bar is really bright and clean and enjoyable. There is outside seating. The staff is excellent and took really good care of us. I'm happy to pass this information along to others who visit Duluth. Now, take my advice! You'll be glad you did!

Recommend the Breakfast Burrito. The sausage was seasoned well and the potato's were delicious. The pesto on the side was delicious.

I never write reviews but I have been thinking about my experience all day. I read some of the other reviews and many other people have seemingly experienced the same thing.
There were four FOH staff working while we were there. We were seated and one took our drink order. That came quickly and we ordered our food. It took a surprising amount of time to get, but I understood because I have read about this place and know they are going for local/from scratch. We were inside and it was slightly busier outside. The server who was clearly the main server outside brought us our food and then silverware.
No one checked how our food was, if we needed anything else, or even refilled our waters. Our original server spent most of the time at the end of the bar wrapping silverware. The two others were at the bar talking to two customers. The poor server for outside never stopped moving. She was doing everything. One table who had been there longer than us had to go up and ask for their bill so they could leave.
As for the food, it was fine. Not amazing and definitely not good enough to make up for the shockingly bad service we received. I genuinely don’t like writing this because I understand that serving and/or customer service is tough. I am a very forgiving customer and understand why things happen but this was a situation that did not have to be as terrible as it was.
Please train your servers so you have a better chance of keeping the kitchen open. Duluth needs it!

We stopped for late brunch after a long day of biking. They had less than 30 minutes until closing time but were still happy to sit us. Their eggplant caponata and the trail sht are absolutely spectacular! This place serves high quality, fresh food. It was such a satisfying meal.

This was a very nice restaurant. Service and food was great. A little on the pricey side but that’s inflation for you ?♂️The only thing that could be better would be a little more selection. My son couldn’t find anything to eat on the menu. They were also out of bacon which was a little disappointing because it was on some of the menu items.
Parking: Was only paid street parking that I could find.
Kid-friendliness: I brought my son and there wasn’t anything real kid oriented on the menu. My son didn’t want anything on the limited menu.
