We went here for breakfast. They offer a full menu so both lunch, dinner and breakfast. My husband had a breakfast burrito which was big and delicious. I had a pasta dish with green beans. It was a unique breakfast choice. Beans were not cooked so very crunchy, pasta was cooked nicely. Dish was a bit spicy. Maybe too much spice for me but I think a lot of people would be fine with it. I had a bloody mary which was totally unique. I would say give it a try. Bloody is $9 while soda is $4.50. Outrageous amount to charge for soda.
We visit Duluth every couple years and had noticed this restaurant previously. It was a cool (not very cold by Minnesota standards) November Saturday morning and we happened to catch a Great Lakes freighter coming out of the port. After some great snapshots we wandered by the restaurant which we had seen the night before. It’s near everything including lots of gift shopping in the building it’s located. I ordered the classic breakfast, it was well prepared (it’s pretty hard to mess up scrambled eggs and bacon extra crispy). The potatoes were good, but the whole package was super salty. She had the burrito; it was very good and huge. Our server was great and checked back often. We especially enjoyed the architecture here. The building itself is very old. The bar is made with a solid piece of wood. There is outdoor seating which was not in use due to the winter on the day we were there. We really enjoyed a quiet breakfast here although it was mid-morning on Saturday in November.
We had a group of six. We split pork lettuce wraps with bulgogi & kimchi and an order of bruschetta. Both were excellent. I had red snapper with white bean purée—fantastic, 100% would order all of these again. Staff was attentive and nice, cozy vibe.
Good food, limited choices in menu and they were out of several items despite dining at 5 pm.
We have enjoyed our visits to Lake Avenue restaurant. Food is very good, and the service has always been warm, friendly, and helpful. In our experience, this is one of the best spots to eat in Duluth.

Amazing service from our server, I think his name may have been Rio (didn't ask, saw it on the check). Good food with inventive combinations, and the space feels like a luxurious seaside shack. Good cocktails to boot.

What a chef! Some of the most flavorful food I've had in my life, and that is no exaggeration. I can be a harsh critic, and this food was phenomenal. Definitely a bit spendy, and the portion sizes are smaller than you typically see at restaurants, but you aren't paying for the amount of food. You're paying for the quality and flavor. I will absolutely be coming back.
We spent about $150 for one appetizer, two entrees, and a few drinks. We had a reservation, which I would recommend since it's not a very large restaurant. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was top tier. 10/10 experience. Thank you Lake Avenue!

The cocktail was a little sweet but I ordered it so my bad. Bruschetta was so good!! Really different. Wine was ok. Salmon was cooked perfectly and whatever stuff was to go on top was great but side veges were not seasoned at all. Service was excellent!! Atmosphere was fabulous!! I would definitely try it again.
This place was excellent! It’s a little hidden and you have to go through the market entrance. The salmon was great and I think the portion was perfect for me. I also got the carrot cake for dessert and it was super rich and dense. Super delicious spot for dinner!

Very welcoming staff. We only had a light snack. I enjoyed their French Cab Franc a lot. Zucchini hummus was great for sharing.

Food was a mixed bag. One of our guests thought the mushroom soup was excellent, but the whitefish in my sandwich was thin, dry and overcooked to the point of shoe leather. Water glasses at our table sat empty with no offer of a refill. The acoustics of the place are terrible; the noise level makes conversation difficult. Such an expensive restaurant should be much better.
