We are visiting the area and wanted a new and good Mexican place to try. We shouldn’t have gone to Margaritas. When we got there we could tell that the place needed to be refreshed, but no big deal. We sat and it took more than 10 min to meet our server. He was a nice guy, but really did not care about being there. The adults had margaritas and we had to order an extra shot of tequila to make them flavorful. The tequila shot was the same price as the margarita itself, so we spent $20 a drink. Food came out quickly, but it wasn’t all there, so one of us sat there and waited for the rest for 20 minutes. There were a lot of problems (out of tamales, had to make more guacamole, which is what took so long, server kept forgetting things, and more). We waited another 20 minutes after we were done eating to order desert while watching our server talk to friends at a booth close to us. The food was very bland and cold. Overall, we wanted to tip well, but didn’t have a good experience so we didn’t.

I love Mexican food and we were excited to try a new place. Was met with terrible service. Had to ask repeatedly to get one glass of water and she was rude about it. Food took forever and while we were waiting we weren’t checked on at all. Then we finally got the food and it was some of the worst Mexican I’ve ever had. Cold as well. We didn’t complain though and had our meal but again were not checked on at all while we could hear our server chatting in the back loudly. I never leave reviews, but this was actually such a bad experience. I also am typically a very generous tipper, but after bad food and bad service I decided I was going to leave a very small tip. Just checked my account today and the amount charged certainly was NOT what I left on the receipt. If I was pettier I’d get others involved, but this will do I guess. There’s a reason why if you go there it will be empty. — JUST DONT

I placed an order for pickup, and they closed a half an hour early unbeknownst to me... They're supposed to be open until 10PM CST on Saturdays. Apparently it's whenever...we...feel.. like.. it: BST. I was looking forward to the meal, but won't be ordering again. It was too late to order much from anywhere else, and I'd just finished with work. Next time I'll try elsewhere.

We waited over an hour. when we got our order it was cold and really soggy. I had a taco salad,the shell was horrible it was soggy and not edible. I will never order from there again.i had to throw it away. That was fifty dollars. Definitely NOT worth it.

The salsa, beans and rice are seemingly homemade. Salsa is not the usual nondescript thin sauce many places bring with the menus when they seat you. Depth of flavors!

Had hair in our food and when it was delivered the waitress(who was very nice, very quick for being the only server, wouldnt of noticed otherwise) had a mouth full of food and had to turn head to talk to us while setting plates down. Probs won't be back because of the health code things but staff was very nice and hospitable.

The server was friendly, but I never got water and even when asked "is there anything else I can get you" I said water please and never got it...also, I would have appreciated if she let me know all they had was one's for cash because I would of used my card otherwise. Tasty food with good size on the larger side of portions. Enough chips to feed an army though, I wonder how many of them are thrown out (a lot of waste) - especially when as a single person I have the same sized basket that a group of 4 has 🫤 I had the local Bent Paddle cream ale, which was delicious, and the Shrimp Lindo (also delicious). It just was a bit of a kick for a mild dish, not sure if it's the seasoning or the cheese sauce, but even though I love Mexican food, I'm not the best with heat. The flavor though was what I loved. It also could have used more rice, the ratio of veggies/meat to rice was a bit off. And the peppers could be cut into bite sized please! Overall, a very good price for the quantity and quality, I would recommend it as a place to go in this area that isn't fast food!

Food is always good, service is swell! The place feels like it could use a deep cleaning & sprucing up. Seems like when you walk in it's always been stuff on floors.
I appreciate that they have lunch specials. This is usually a pretty good place. However, I was disappointed that I asked to have the close captions put on the TV as I am a person who falls under the category deaf/hard of hearing and the waitress said she did not know how to work the tvs, but would find somebody who did. Nobody did anything. I felt so un-accommodated I was disappointed for sure.

This was the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time. I ordered the Jalisco special. When the cook brought my food out it consisted of a chicken breast, what they claimed was a ribeye steak and 3 tortillas. (It was a flank steak) I asked the cook about the sides and the cheese that's supposed to come with it. The server told me nothing else came with it. At this point I was a little perplexed and asked to see a menu. The waitress brought a menu, and agreed that it was supposed to have sides and cheese. It took over 10 minutes for them to bring the sides that were supposed to join my meal. I had ordered my steak medium rare. It was well done. I politely asked the waitress to remove the steak from my bill. At this point both the steak and chicken were cold. She looked at me, didn't say a word and walked off. It is one thing to make mistakes on food, but when the service is below sub-par it just takes all the joy out of dining. I will never spend another penny here. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Duluth, Mexican restaurants at that. With this kind of service, I'll be surprised if Margarita's is around much longer.
Edited:To the margaritas owner: I attempted to have it made right while at your establishment. I was met with absolutely rude behavior on the part of your staff. I wasn't rude nor did I treat anyone with disrespect. I simply asked for what I was paying for. In addition...your staff appeared very comfortable behaving in such a rude manner. By that alone, I would guess that this is the treatment anyone can expect from your establishment. There are quite a few bad reviews from the past few months. Had I looked at reviews before attempting to dine at margaritas, I would have chosen another establishment to spend my money.
