Where to begin? Went for Valentine’s day with my partner and spent >200$ to be rushed through a mediocre tasting menu in a dining area that feels like a corporate waiting room. There was no privacy and it was quite loud, since tables were placed very close to one another to maximize $ output and minimize your dining comfort. The food was disappointing. Cauliflower “soup” was microwaved and way too thick. The mussels were so overdone they were completely dry, and way oversalted. Duck was also overdone. Like others have said, teeny tiny portions too. If customers are paying that much we should not go to bed hungry. Moreover I should be wowed by the whole meal, but I was instead disappointed by every dish. Also, while the tasting menu was advertised, they did not mention anywhere on the website that the special tasting menu REPLACES the regular menu. We didn’t know we’d be forced to do the tasting menu until we sat down. Should have left then, but I foolishly held out hope. All told, 301 is an excellent place to burn gobs of cash on a poorly prepared meal. Total rip off.

We went for the Murder on the Orient Express dinner special they had running in conjunction with the playhouse production last night. The dinner was 4 courses, they were tiny, not filling at all. I went to bed hungry. The third course was duck. Normally I love duck but they overcooked it. The waiter didn’t ask us for a temperature preference they just brought it out well done. Gross. The duck was on top of a white bean purée which basically melted into the sauce and provided nothing substantial. So the overcooked, very tough duck was swimming in a bed of thin bean soup that you couldn’t get onto a fork. Sweet potatoes would have been a better choice. On top of it all, the dinner was $65 per person !! which they didn’t advertise on the menu and the waiter didn’t mention. I’m not cheap and I don’t mind spending money on a quality dinner but $65 for this is a ripoff! Duluth trying to be fancy and failing miserably…wanna be pretentious, yuck. I will say the dessert was very tasty but again small portioned. It also should have included an espresso or dessert drink/coffee option. I won’t be going back there.

Best specialty dessert I ever had. Can't remember the name it was a "special" it's not on the regular menu but it should be! It was a moist, sweet, delicious cake with fresh cream and berries. Oh my goodness could have been in a fancy French bakery it was the BEST! The food wasn't too shabby either! A little spendy yet well worth it for a special occasion! This is a very special place with great servers and awesome chefs!

This is the worst food I have ever eaten and for the price I should have gotten my money back. The service was bad and the steak was the most disgusting steak I've ever had they should honestly close this restaurant down.

Service was great, food was ew. I never write reviews, but I couldn't let other people waste their money like we did. We got the shrimp and scallop pasta, which was just noodles, oil, and flavorless seafood. I could see black pepper, but didn't taste it - literally no flavor. My husband got the Nashville chicken sandwich, which was also bland af. Chef should be applauded in managing to give a Nashville hot chicken sandwich ZERO flavor - didn't think that was even possible. Also got the panna cotta - it was a pan of NO duh. Tasted like unflavored gelatin. 0/10 for food if you like the taste of taste.

My son and I met for the Christmas 4-course meal: we were seated and patiently waited but after 10+ minutes we politely asked a server for water and that we were ready to choose our first course. This happened again for the 2nd course. The 3rd/4th were a little better. The server was very nice and the food was good but not excellent. Considering the restaurant has 10 tables at the most I really don't understand the delay.

Long wait 30+ minutes for food, an additional 15+ after eating for waitress to come back with check. Food was semi cold and overpriced. Decent flavors put together but I think the wait staff were the reason why the execution was off. Seating was tight. We wouldn't go back.

We were very pleased with the presentation of our delicious meals which everyone of us enjoyed thoroughly. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. We definitely will be back. Thank you for an awesome Dino g experience!

Research the content of the Bavarian-themed dinner before you order. The online menu does not mention the Bull's blood in the first course- the tomato and beef soup. Portions extremely tiny- beautifully presented. Main course was a large piece of bone- pork shank, which we couldn't eat. Again, our own fault for not researching and asking more questions!

Was our first time trying the restaurant & we were very disappointed. Spent $200 on 2 apps & 4 meals. Apps were okay, though the scallops were a little over done. As for the meals: we got a vegan pasta with garlic sauce, none of us tasted any garlic & the sauce was more of a paste. Not very good or pleasant to look at. The rosiotto was so thick I could have held it upside down without it moving. The chicken wildrice soup was bland & had more white rice than wild rice. The fish we got was over cooked & also tasted like it was boiled not baked. Then there was a lady at another table talking on her phone for 1.5 of the 2 hours we were there. Staff said nothing to her as the small dining room filled up.The only positive thing I can say is that the staff was very friendly. As a local who has wanted to try this place out for years I was very disappointed & will not be back.

I had my Thanksgiving Dinner here. I've never eaten here before only drinks. I'm thankful I did the starter soup was delicious & the salad. The turkey was perfectly cooked and the stuffing reminded me of a home cooked meal with family. I will definitely be back for dinner again during the less stressful times. But I will definitely be back soon

Food and service was excellent in a calm and quiet environment. I like the small size of the restaurant and easy to park in parking ramp and get buzzed in from skywalk. I would highly recommend!!

Smaller sized restaurant that was pretty quiet for a Friday evening. Bar was a bit busier. Few, but tasty NA options to drink. The shrimp/lobster pasta and the walleye with wild rice were both great and would recommend.

It was an awkward experience. I didn't know that it was in a hotel (nobody's fault but my own). However, the seating area was practically in the hotel lobby. It was eerily quiet- there were 11 people there eating, and everyone was whispering. No restaurant ambiance. We made reservations, but 5 minutes in, we ate one appetizer, and left for another restaurant.

Being located just off the lobby of a hotel, this restaurant is a gathering space for groups at the bar along with being a spot for a nice dinner in a modern and elegant setting. The fruit & cheese plate starter is a delicious appetizer, sized well for two people. The salmon was perfectly prepared, and the bison ribeye was medium-rare deliciousness, perfectly paired with the mushroom rissoto. A thoroughly enjoyable dinner to start a date night in Duluth.
