I was told today that the bread had honey in it. I asked if all the bread had honey and was told that some had egg but no honey. The tomato soup has cream. No vegan options here. Updated from previous review on 2025-07-21

This place was excellent. Great sandwiches. Great staff and prices that make sense for a sandwich. I would 100% recommend going here.

Just like that guy said this place is a hidden gem. Everything was good. I'm pretty sure the ranch dip is homemade or in-house. Good sandwiches for a good price. Wish I could've tried the soups.

Staff was very friendly. The food was tasty and inexpensive. A sandwich and chips was about $7 for good quality meat, cheese and bread. I’d eat here again!

I want to begin by saying that I rarely write a negative review, especially for a local, independent business. When we arrived at Toasty's just after 6pm there were no other customers. That should have been a warning sign to me, but I love a little local place, so my girls and I proceeded. About 8 hours after eating, my daughter woke up and became violently ill, less than 15 minutes later so did I. I haven't vomited in decades, and my daughter rarely gets ill. My other daughter did not get ill, but she ate a completely different sandwich. How do I know it was the food from Toasty's you may ask? I know because my daughters and I, all ate the same thing for breakfast and lunch. The only variable in our diets that day were our sandwiches from Toasty's. I hope that either business picks up or their hygiene practices improve, but at this time I would not advise you eat here.

This is the best eating deal in Duluth! The bread is baked fresh the menu is simple and the options are tasty. The prices are unbelievable! It's hard to find good food let alone delicious affordable food.

Fantastic! This place is a gem. Homemade bbq, fresh made bread - amazing. We tried a salad, sandwich, and soup. Each fresh with incredible flavors.

The Mecca of toasted sandwiches. This was an out of body experience when it came to good ass food. On holiday in Duluth and needed a lunch spot- from the second we walked in we were met with excellent customer service. You can tell this staff loves and cares about this food. We had the Philly, BLT, and tomato basil soup and wow. My dad always said you know the food is good when no one at at the table is talking, and this table was SILENT. I sincerely wish this small business the best of luck in everything they hope for in the future of Toasty’s. If you’re going to eat a sandwich in Duluth- it should only be from here.

The service was horrible. I walked in and it took at least 15 min just to see anyone to order. I ordered the steak-tastic sandwich and a drink. When another family walked in they greeted them immediately gave them there drinks immediately (they didn't give me mine) and overall treated them differently in better way than they treated me when I came in. The food was really mediocre, I came because of the high rating but honestly I could've made it much better at home, but for the price I can't complain to much. Definitely won't be returning solely based off the customer service.

This place was a welcome surprise in the middle of Duluth downtown. The sandwiches Tom makes are just so good! I mean these are simple ingredients for a grilled veggie sandwich but almost everyone gets it wrong. I did take out a couple of times over two days before I went on some hikes and the sandwiches were the perfect reward for the end of the trail or hike. They did not get soggy and remained fresh even hours later. The prices are also very affordable given the quality.

My favorite sandwich was the Ariba Ariba which I had with pickles and jalapenos added. The people at Panera need to take a few lessons from Tom here on how to make sandwiches!

Vegetarian options: There is a wide assortment of grilled vegetarian sandwiches and there's also the tomato soup which comes highly recommended.

Dietary restrictions: Great for vegetarians

Don’t accept online orders if you don’t have the staffing to meet the estimated pick up time. It’s lunch time on a normal Thursday and it takes 50 minutes to get two sandwiches? There are no menus posted at the register either. I’m not sure how this establishment has 4.6 stars and I don’t wish bad on your business, but stop wasting people’s time and money for mediocre food and service.

It was ok I guess but it was very slow service and I could have made a similar sandwich in my own kitchen. This is nothing special. But it’s cheap so there’s that!
