Delicious breads, jams, etc. but the girls at the service counter made me feel really dumb about a question I had. Embarrassed me with their sarcasm and dirty looks. :(

One of my favorite bakery in town, the bread is excellent, the environment is great but service is poor. For some reason, they would serve somebody else while I am standing by the cashier getting all my bread.I had to move aside because they kept on just adding more people that were behind the line. This happened to me multiple times!

It’s a walkin, no tables. Love all of the bakery items, no preservatives!!

Worst service and products of any Breadsmith in the Twin Cities.

I was in town and I wanted a cinnamon roll to drive home with. Saw what looked like a solid cinnamon roll, and decided on this place. The cinnamon roll, was either a chocolate roll, or from another day, they don’t have them available on Fridays. This is my disappointed script.

I’m an adult though, and I have to stop for coffee, though they had an attached ish Starbucks. I usually prefer smaller cafes, don’t read my Caribou post it was a rough morning. I decided on their chocolate not cinnamon roll look alike, a scone, and a pull apart that had that wonderful cinnamon name on the tin. It was all fine (I’m writing this later so I could try them all).

The chocolate not cinnamon roll, was fine. It left me craving a cinnamon roll, so I tried the scone once I got a beverage. It was a cranberry and citrus something, glazed. It was fine and puffy. I should have left that for a day old, I’ve had better freshly baked scones, more what I expect than this fluffy glazed thing. The flavor profile was great though, tangy and sweet. It also didn’t fill that cinnamon hole, though it did remind me that things not cinnamon can be delicious - even when the texture is sad.

I was helped quickly, the staff was kind, and i was paid and on my way in less than 10 minutes. My questions were all answered, though I was not upsold on anything, and feel like they missed an opportunity to help me find exactly what I wanted when I was informed cinnamon rolls were an other day thing. She told me the day, I just couldn’t care since I was leaving town. It’s a great way to keep people coming back, except when they’re never going to come back.

Oh, so the cinnamon pull apart bread, the saddest loaf of unfulfilling promise yet. I got a share size, a good pull apart I’ll accidentally not share, so I figured I should get something I might share. The Great Harvest cinnamon pull apart has ruined glazed, partially cinnamoned, baked dough for me. I’ve made my own, and it’s not easy, or as good. This cinnamon … sadness is almost unworthy of the declaration. I would return it except it would be 400 miles round trip of driving to return this unsatisfying loaf, and it seems like more effort than they put into crafting this piece to begin with. Of all the things I thought would fill the cinnamon hole, this was it, and was I wrong. If you like bread with a hint of cinnamon, maybe this is for you, with that powder sugar glaze on it. If however you hear cinnamon first when you hear or read cinnamon roll, and not roll with cinnamon, go try the pull apart from Great Harvest.

Perhaps this is all on me, I didn’t get any bread from Breadsmith, though I also looked for cinnamon roll and got this place. Do not listen to the algorithm. If you’re looking for a cinnamon roll, or cinnamon anything, you can do better elsewhere.

If you’re looking for a bread forward accented with flavor kind of place, maybe this is for you! I am unlikely to return.

Parking: Most of the lot is reserved for the grocer. If you’re quick though, they don’t have a tow truck on site. I accidentally parked in the wrong stall, and it wasn’t an issue at 9am on Friday.

Wheelchair accessibility: I think technically it is compliant, would be right with the shop layout.

I found this bakery by walking into a bank two doors down, and while inside the bank, I kept smelling this unbelievable cinnamon aroma. When I asked the teller where the smell was coming from he told me the bakery two doors down. Long story short; I finished up at the bank and walked directly to the bakery and was blown away by their display of sweet aromatic treats. I bought three of their large cinnamon rolls to go for an after dinner dessert. Let me tell you.. stopping at the bank was the best thing I did because after a long three year quest to find an actual local ‘real bakery’ was over and completely by happenstance. Words cannot describe how delicious the cinnamon rolls were, and I can’t wait to try the rest of what Breadsmith has to offer. I highly recommend this bakery.

I love the pumpkin walnut bread. The chocolate chip banana bread is good, too. We'll worth the money and drive.

Love the dark rye and the pretzel rolls, especially! The loyalty app is great - love when they give free treats of new items on the menu.

Stale babka and rude workers. Smug and unfriendly

This is my favorite bread store. And the smells probably increase your carb loading when you enter the store.

After grabbing a large dark roast next door at Starbucks I went in and looked for something to nibble on and their small blueberry scone caught my eye. It was wonderful and went so well with my dark roast.

However, later I went in and purchased a loaf of their whole wheat cinnamon raisin bread. I was very disappointed. It was just a heavy block of poorly risen whole wheat bread with some raisins and cinnamon added- what a disappointment.

I have a loaf of Thomas Cinnamon Swirl bread that is great but not whole wheat. That is what a cinnamon raisin bread should look like. You can find the raisins in this loaf.

I guess buyer be ware when you buy whole wheat bread.

I am a repeat customer for their babka roll/bread & pretzels! I like that most items are safe for my family as they do not include dairy in most of their products.
