Loved the atmosphere, sorry to hear it's going to a Modern remodel. Service was excellent!

As a former fan of McCormick & Schmick, our last few visits have been quite disappointing.Lobster bisque: this was served to us lukewarm and with visible streaks of oil on the top of the soup. Previously it used to include small chunks of lobster, however, any that we received were minuscule during our most recent visit. The soup was also greatly over saltedLobster bisque mashed potatoes: we ordered the for the first time and much to our dismay it was merely lobster bisque poured over mashed potatoes and then microwaved. The soup was still far too salty and although there were more chunks of lobster, the film on the surface as a result of the soup overheating made the side altogether unappealingCrab cake sandwich: this was quite soggy and primarily just breading. As this dish was once our favorite dish with a crispy base and large pieces of crab, the contrast was extremely disappointing.Chocolate purse: the best part of the meal, however, still underwhelming. The presentation of a chocolate shell is impressive but the dessert is difficult to eat due to the thickness of the chocolate. Inside is chocolate mousse and whipped cream which pleasantly was not overly sweet when paired with the berries. The service was also quite lackluster during our visit. Our waitress was visibly impatient and bothered by our requests (such as a water refill when ordering dessert). The atmosphere remains unchanged but the decrease in quality of service and food, especially in consideration of the prices, makes us unlikely to return in the near future.

The best thing about M&S is that they are consistently good across all locations that I have visited. When traveling, you don't always want the spendiness of Capital Grille but you also want better food than Maggiano's, this experience fits as a nice option somewhere in between. So when I moved to SW Minneapolis, it was nice to find this location. I would go a lot more but parking is terrible there. That is my only complaint.

Been many times. Not sure what's happening, but they are really not what they used to be. Ordered a drink and it wasn't anything like pictured or described. Fish tacos were bad. Place was dusty, at the bar.

Brought my family in for a nice sit down dinner....so we thought...ordered the shrimp kisses which we thought were good. Ordered the broccoli came out burnt to a crisp on the tops it like turned to a dust when touched. We ordered the 8 oz filet and 15 mins after ordering were told that they were out.I had to get a steak I didn't want as well as my wife. My sons cheeseburger was ordered medium and came out with ice cold chunks in the middle.Long story short folks my wife and I are doubled over in pain and stuck on the toilet this morning...we ate the mashed potatoes, one bite of broccoli, and shared the shrimp kisses....We called to talk to the assistant manager immediately this morning and report the concern and was told they'd document it and was pretty much hung up on.Never again will we go here, we'll stick to Pittsburgh Blue where the food and service is excellent ?

Brought my family in for what was hoping to be a nice elegant dinner, but the outcome of our visit was not so good! The next day we both felt sick and when we called to inform the restaurant their response was only that they would document our name. No apologies or try to make it right with use.

The food was excellent, and I'm glad we chose this establishment over the always packed Cheese Cake factory down the street. However, the four stars total was given because of our server. The service was excellent, and he was fairly amusing, but his jargon was a bit uncomfortable for most of us. I am guessing he assumed all minorities spoke a certain way that was quite unsettling. My father helps run a non-profit organization through a group of churches sponsored by the St. Paul police department, and has a band called show me love that performs all over the city, I am currently in the military 24 years strong, my spouse works in federal law enforcement, my mother works at her church and with social services and we definitely presented our selves well, including my sister, nephew, plus my two sons. Even if we didn't have the background or presented ourselves well, there was no excuse, especially when he spoke to other tables in a normal fashion. I didn't include his name and was conflicted about including this in the review because outside of that, the service was impeccable, and we felt he meant well. A lot of these situations occur because, well, meaning people don't receive sensitivity training. Training is necessary to break down and eliminate stereo types as well supports more neutral customer service. Allowing all patrons to receive the same consistent services. ALL THAT SAID.... We had a great time, the food was delicious, and I HIGHLY recommend this place.

It took a while to be seated and to be helped. But the waiter was nice to apologize for the delay and did an amazing job throughout the night. The steak was good. And the crème brûlée was the best we have ever har compared to other restaurants we've been to.

Friday night at M&S was pretty busy, yet I felt our server Garrett was still very attentive, humorous and helpful. Even though he had at least five tables around us, I never felt ignored. The Johnny Shuck oysters were great with a nice choice of condiments. I had the seared Ahi tuna entree while my wife had the scallops - fantastic! The entire night was enjoyable, like a night out with friends!

The touch of personalization of Happy Anniversary on the menus, nice touch. Service was good, not great. Food was only ok. Lobster mashed potato is just lobster bisque over the mash. Steak was only avg, not worth the near $50 in either taste or size 13oz. Stuffed salmon adequate.

I dare can say that this is THE best seafood and steak place in Minnesota. Every ingredients are fresh and the foods appear to be cooked just right. I had Parmesan Crusted Flounder and my niece had Fillet Mignon. We are pretty particular with food, yet very satisfied.Kid-friendliness: The service staff was quite friendly and approachable. She appeared very knowledgeable about her menu. I liked her.

Food is mediocre at best. Not impressed by the menu options given but picked some out of hunger. Ordered a Greek salad, Nashville Spicy Chicken sandwich, and 9oz WagyuBoth the Sandwich and Greek salad are of quality that could be found in a grocery store deli section and had no outstanding flavors. The seasoning on the chicken sandwich was light and could have used more coleslaw (also underwhelming)Wagyu is disappointing. I have cooked thousands of steaks professionally and it's absolutely crucial to have adequate seasoning, especially salt. Grill marks were too light and the surfaces of the steak didn't develop any crust or char. Honestly couldn't tell that this was a cut of Wagyu at all. Very lean cut with tendons and still chewy at medium rare . Mashed potatoes are ok. I would expect more fluffy given the establishment.Steak and seafood are really simple dishes but come at decent cost. It's important to match this with a lot of attention to technique and preparation to sell these as fine dining. sorry but I can't say it was an excellent dinner
