My sister and I had dinner there for her birthday. Gorgeous decor - almost painfully hip. Food was amazing, we had the bao buns, butternut squash soup with chili oil to start. The only bad thing I can say is that the half-circle booths were very weird. It was so shallow that it was uncomfortable to carry on a conversation as she was right next to me, and the table was small like a cocktail table. I know it's mostly small plates, but still. Physically not comfortable.

A friend and I checked out Starling a week ago and had some mixed feelings. On the one hand, their Steamed Pork Buns are DELICIOUS. If I'd just ordered those, this would be a 5 star review. On the other hand, we didn't love any of the other dishes we ordered.

The butter chicken tacos were particularly underwhelming. It's truly just a tortilla and butter chicken. Maybe it was obvious in the name but we weren't that impressed with it. Turns out naan was the better choice to begin with! The pork belly tacos were much better.

I was super excited to try the Ube Tres Leches, but it was just alright -- the Purple Starling cocktail is a better alternative for ube lovers in my opinion. The adobo pork was dry, didn't have anywhere near enough sauce and really didn't taste like adobo. I will say we appreciated when a server (maybe the manager?) stopped by with more sauce, which did help the dish a bit.

The interior was gorgeous and the service was great. There's a decent amount of parking outside and the restaurant is located on the main floor of what I believe is an apartment building.

Starling was a great experience. I would highly recommend trying them out! Happy hour is from 2-5 pm & they start serving dinner at 4 pm. Restaurant is an international food vibe & is a great place in Edina.

Food and ambience was top tier. They were out of the curry walleye fish so I got the green beans with steak. Will be back.

Highly recommend a reservation. Super love the ambience in this restaurant. Service is really good. The mocktail with ube was quite interesting and the ube tres leches was amazing!

Parking: Timing is critical. I was lucky to find parking near the entrance but some had to walk really far as parking gets full!

Great food. Really impressed. Some interesting Asian-type dishes, great curry fries, and great banana-chocolate cheesecake. Highly recommend…

This place is firing on all cylinders. I love the atmosphere and decor and our server tonight, Emily, was phenomenal. She had great recommendations, was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, including some upcoming items to look forward to. She was personable and her attention to detail was very impressive; sometimes it was like things just appeared at our table because we were too busy enjoying her company to notice she was working.

As for the food... I'm a "best for last" kind of person and I always struggle to decide what my last bite should be here. So far, the sticky wings haven't been beat, but it's been close every time.

Starling was just…meh. The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed our drinks. The initial service was a bit slow, but improved as the meal went on. The food, however, was a disappointment. We started with the Wok Fried Green Beans which were undercooked (I expect “Al dente”, but this was closer to raw). For our mains, we shared the Chicken Yakisoba and the Filipino Adobo Pork. They tasted surprisingly similar - both were very salty. Avoid the Coconut “Pudding”. Maybe it was an off night, but we will not hurry back.

This place has potential, atmosphere and service good. Sadly, each dish we had was so poor. Green beans not cooked and cold, fries boring by themselves, but dipping sauce over the top on pepper. The wings…fatty not crispy on outside. Hoping they improve or we had an off night.

It's a nice location and place to eat out. The decor is nice and earthy. The adobo was 4/5, there's too much sauce which can be overpowering the taste buds. Chicken wings 5/5, flavor and portion was great. The salad 3/5, wasn't expecting it to be covered with so much cheese. Good for cheese lovers, though. Balinise fried rice 3/5, it was good mixed, but the charcoal smoky taste was overpowering, making the whole dish bitter. Ube cake 4/5 really yummy, but super sweet. If you got a sweet tooth this is for you.

Beautiful spot with excellent service!

The food was flavorful and fresh although not necessarily my favorite (maybe we ordered the wrong thing) and that’s the into reason I gave it a 4. Drinks were yummy and strong.

My friend and I went to the restaurant for happy hour and quickly got a table. There is a very welcoming ambience there in a beautifully decorated venue. Loved the bird music playing in the bathroom, just peaceful!!

I ordered the fried chicken sandwich (which had flavors of Indian food, very unique, chicken was very thick). I also ordered the tropical daiquiri and can’t remember what my friend ordered. Would recommend and would like to come back during another time to try more of the menu.
