Yumi Japanese Restaurant & Bar - Edina

Had been looking forward to come eat here for a while and will not be coming back. Ordered a bit of everything to try on the menu and it was all underwhelming. The sticky wings were dry and lacked any flavor besides the sauce they were coated in. The veggie fried rice was also really dry and not enjoyable. The negitoro the tuna had no fattyness in it. Seaweed salad was 20-30% seaweed and rest a motley of veggies. Only decent things were the miso soup and the veggie udon soup. Broth actually had some flavor. Overall disappointing and won’t be coming back. Your typical mid Japanese restaurant disguised as a high end spot.

Service was great, food was ok. Had high hopes for the calamari. The Hot Knight roll was a bit spicier than expected, with the slices almost too big to put on my mouth. Had a unique sake with my meal as well. Would try again but am not in a rush.

We were visiting from Illinois. Our server Maura was very knowledgeable and made a recommendation for our son who had never tried sushi before. The gyoza was fabulous. The beef teriyaki was also great. Food came out fast. Maura recommended mochi ice cream for dessert which was a wonderful palate cleanser.

Oh me oh my!!! This has to be the best sushi restaurant inside a mall here in E.D.I.N.A (everyday, I need attention)!!! Lord have mercy. I got two spicy tuna rolls and I’m still full. Rolls be the size of my hand, so come hungry and prepared. Worth coming back the next time I’m breaking my fast, that’s for sure. 9.01/10.00

Delicious sushi and appetizers in a spacious and chill atmosphere. The titanic roll is our favorite! Server Vasilisa is the best and always makes it a great experience.

Great happy hour menu and gluten free options! It's really hard to find gf spicy salmon rolls. Didn't love big pieces of lettuce in some of the rolls, seemed odd and threw off the normal flavors. Great atmosphere though.

Yumi, Edina was fabulous all around. Marah was the perfect host and meal attendant, so pleasant and attentive. Loved her tremendously!! Yumi- she's a gem, don't let her out of your sight.
The food was exquisite, beautiful atmosphere, well done all around .

In my opinion, food is overpriced. The bartender was pretty good, but the rest of the staff were busy with their phones and talking to each other. Took quite a while to even get a drink or food or to even get anyone to notice.
