DO NOT eat the Thai food offered at this place. Biggest waste of $$. The sausage was more like sawdust packed into a sausage skin with a slimy OD green something poured over it and sprinkled with puffed rice, looking like it was infested with maggots.

The rice that came with some sort of rib dinner was dry enough to choke a horse.

Lastly, there is, besides the credit card fee, an additional fee of 6% for non-tipped employees..."TO BE EQUITABLE". (There's your first hint).

Next time I will settle for gas station burgers instead.

My company & I had an amazing and beautiful brunch this morning! The online reservation system was super-easy and fast. We were graciously greeted and promptly seated, and our server was very patient--we were talking a lot! Our table had the breakfast pizza topped with soft scrambled eggs (easily could have been 2 portions), a peaches & cream liege waffle that was crisp and fresh and not too sweet, the house bacon, chocolate croissants (so many layers!), and the lobster soft-scrambled eggs served in a huge crisp croissant with a light salad. We can't forget the honey-lavender mimosas, either! Everything was so thoughtfully executed. We felt we had a ton of food at a good value--we even walked away with leftovers. As a lifelong Ely resident, I can say The Chocolate Moose didn't disappoint and is levels beyond any other place in town. All-round, an excellent experience! Those scrambled eggs...

Very good food and service but the "service fee" feels sneaky at best. If you need more money to pay your back of house, just up your prices.

Expensive brunch for lackluster food. I ordered the Bacon Eggs Benedict. My eggs were overcooked (no runny yolk) and fingerling potatoes were mushy. For $18 (plus a required service charge) I would expect a higher quality breakfast sandwich than what I received.

The Chocolate Moose serves the best food and cocktails in Ely. Make a reservation and don't worry about getting a table. Love the themed menus!!

Delicious food, with an awesome rotating menu concept!

Parking: Searching for parking will be required, usually with a bit of a walk to get to the restaurant.

Told wait was 15 - 20. Went out for a walk. 40 minutes later, we walked in to ask nicely if still being seated. got a snooty, and don't care response about people having to leave first. Decided to just leave. Give the food a five just from the smell.. Building was nice and clean, but even the other staff member that was there didnt acknowledge and avoided eye contact when we walked back in to ask on our seating. Might try again but not the treatment expected for what seemed to be a nice dining experience.

Stopped in here after a week in BWCAW, and breakfast was everything our sodden psyches and wilting bodies needed. After a cup of nicely balanced coffee, a handmade sausage patty, and three bites of perfectly spiced and crispy home fries, we were able to employ basic reasoning skills again. A further few bites of eggs, bacon, and homemade blackberry jam on an English muffin, and we recovered feeling in our hands and feet. By the time we cleaned our plates, we felt human again! In seriousness, this is a cool, smallish (though seating does not feel crowded at all), log cabin style building with a small menu of food made exceptionally well. Service was excellent. 10:30am on a Sunday is a bit early for me to be enjoying beers or mixed drinks, but lots of other patrons seemed to be enjoying a good variety thereof. Bathrooms are right around the corner in the adjacent gear and clothing store, which contains both the silly 'fashionable' clothing made by gear brands - but also a section of actual, legitimate gear to draw you in after a tasty meal. Looking forward to coming back!

I ordered single patty cheeseburger which was thin and filled half the bun, which was stale. My wife ordered walleye and cole slaw. The walleye breading was full of grease and so hard, it could not be cut with a fork. The cole slaw barely had any dressing. Worst meals we have ever had. However, our waitress was very good and provided good service.

This restaurant should be higher rated. It was so good we went twice in our long weekend trip. Patty melt for lunch was the best I’ve had in a long time. The current French themed dinner was also very good. My husband loved his steak frites. Service was quick even though they were busy.
