Breakfast here several times while camped in nearby Gilbert, MN. All breakfasts were really good. The specials are really nice.

We were headed out of town and happened to run into this small cafe. Not splashy inside or outside but the food will delight you and the pastries are unimaginably delicious! We were hoping to catch breakfast and almost left when we realized we were just 5 minutes too late and lunch had started, but glad we stayed. Service was great, food came out fast, and for the most part delicious. Hubbys philly wrap had too much lettuce and was a bit bland, but then the pastries, we ordered a doz total of 4 different flavors and all of them were so yummy! We were hoping for a doz price and not per piece price, but otherwise they were truly incredible.

We've eaten here on several visits to Eveleth and always had delicious meals. It was my dear mother in law's favorite lunch cafe. We live in Massachusetts, but for our summer visit to Eveleth this year, we pre-ordered one of Mary's specialties: a sandwich loaf. This is a long loaf cut into lengthwise slices of bread with 5 scrumptious layers of filling: tuna, egg, chicken, ham, & cheese. The loaf is iced with a thick layer of cream cheese, and as you can see in my photo, it is so large that we had to turn it on the diagonal to fit a long baking pan -- and the cream cheese says: "I'm ready to party." Thank you, Mary, for this delicious taste of "home."
