Excelsior Brewing is now one of the best breweries in the twin cities. I used to think their beers were just ok, but they have seriously stepped up their game in the past couple of years. The strawberry cream ale, spiced dark ale (can’t remember the exact name!) and their s’mores beer are unique and tasty. Their location in excelsior is great and their trivia night on Thursdays is super fun. Don’t always head to Minneapolis for great beer- Excelsior is where it’s at!!!!

You know the beer is good but the past few times I have been the staff has been very rude and unwelcoming. We were there from 4pm-6:30pm on a Saturday- pretty bare and we had our kiddos with us. The amount of dirty looks and rude comments about our kids was crazy. Will not be back. Felt unwelcome with our littles and got confronted about having them play and dance to music. If you are looking for a family friend fly place- this isn’t it. It’s too bad.

A great lake town brewery. Not pretentious, live music and regular events and plenty of great beers that rotate. Staff is always friendly and a great place for pups and families!

Wow! What a great staff and the beer is fantastic! Can't wait to go back

Great atmosphere and busy night due to the nice weather.

Our favorite local spot! Beers are great, permanent or seasonal. Workers are wonderful and we love the way they are enmeshed into the community. Highly recommend!

Gave one star because zero was no option. Terrible beer. Atmosphere was horrible. Would not recommend to anyone in any situation.

Awesome brewery- fun relaxed environment. Great seating both inside and out. Good selection of beer. Lots of nights with live music and bingo. Non-alcoholic and THC drinks are available. They have a few snacks to buy and you can bring in food from local restaurants

We have visited EBC many times in the past but our 3/19/23 visit was by far the best. It was a last minute Sunday decision to attend the Lions club meat raffle and needless to say our trip was worth it! Beers were on point, service was fast and friendly and the meat raffle was a blast! Of course we won!!

A great spot for a brew. I was staying just down the road dog sitting this past week and I made here twice. They are dog friendly so I made sure to direct one of our walks out this way on a sunny Thursday spring afternoon. The place was buzzing with happy Minnesotans and friendly bartenders (brew-tenders?). Service was super quick and there were tables available. There was even a Girl Scout going table to table selling cookies. Pretty good business model if you ask me. There was also a private party going on in the back. The second time I came was on a Saturday evening around 7. They had a live band and the place was packed! There was also a surprise birthday party going on, so seating was quite limited -- but enough standing room. I tried the "A day at the peach sour" and the "spresso milk stout". I loved both and would get both again. I think next time I might try a flight to sample even more of their offerings. I will for sure be back this summer for the patio!!
