“Awesome restaurant with great food. While their whole menu and drink selection is good, breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal here.

They have a great combination of indoor and out door seating. It’s also located on the Main Street in excelsior with lots of local shops, the lake, and the commons park all within walking distance. The regional bike trail runs right by there as well making it a great destination or place for a quick stop.”

“my wife and I met my Niece here recommended by my niece, We all had our own personal pizza's. The pizza was fantastic, Nice crunchy crust and the cheese and pepperoni were delicious.Service top notch, Highly recommend this place.”

“I wish it was a star point system to review. I usually love britos burrito. The location on Nicollet is really convenient for me. I would probably give it three stars. I always ask for one scoop of rice and they always give me extra. I ask for a little bit of corn and they put a heaping scoop on the one thing that really frustrates me is that when I ask for extra cheese, they put a pinch on and if I ask for more, they get angry and tell me that I’m going to have to pay for it. The service leaves a lot to be desired, but the pricing is good, which is why it is three stars and not five.”

“My husband and I came from Ohio to celebrate his birthday and we had some time to kill before attending Paisley Park for our tour. So we stopped at this establishment and the staff and the people in the area were friendly. As for the brew I'm not a beer drinker but I did try the Rosé seltzer and it was really good. Hubby and I definitely had a great experience!”

“I have been going to Cafe 12:2 for over five years at this point, and the quality never disappoints! They have a wide variety of hot, cold, and blended drinks such as mochas, lattes, frappuccinos, drip coffee, etc. There are bottled soda pop and water as well, and apart from beverages they also sell yogurt, cheese and beef sticks, candies and pastries. All of the products are reasonably priced; in the five years I've been at 12:2, there has only been a 25 cent raise in price primarily because of a switch to a higher quality coffee brand. All the staff are friendly and understanding, the layout of the Cafe is warm and aesthetically pleasing, and of course all the drinks look and taste amazing!

Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly snacks such as fruit snacks, cheese sticks, and goldfish are sold. Hot chocolate can be made less hot for the little ones.

Parking: All parking is free and a short walk from the Cafe.

Wheelchair accessibility: Along with stairs, there is an elevator guests may use.

Dietary restrictions: There are several types of milk products available, including skim milk, soy milk, coconut milk, almond milk, oat milk, and half and half.”

“We had Old Southern Bbq cater for our wedding and it was absolutely an amazingly positive experience! The director of catering, Amy, was so helpful and on top of everything. The catering team was absolutely wonderful! All of our guests ranted and raved about the food all night, especially the potato salad and the cornbread muffin tops. Would definitely recommend!”

“Always a great time at Excelsior Maynard’s! If we come by boat or by truck! Parking is always a bit of an issue, a parking ramp is GREATLY NEEDED in that area! Food is great inside or out on the Wharf. We have fun throwing a game or two of bags, watching the boats go by & people watching while sippin’ on some cold beverages from the bar! You can’t go wrong with a day or night out at Maynard’s in Excelsior!”

“I’ve been here half a dozen times (parking is kinda difficult lately due to all the construction). I’ve brought friends here. I’ve had the best time, best coffee, and best almond croissants. Sitting outside - front or back - is always a treat. Now that my bicycle is fixed, I can come more often. Love this place!”

“A cute little space with a fireplace, seasonal decorations, paintings on the walls, free WiFi, a diverse menu, group seating and individual seating, cold drinks in a fridge, customer bathroom, children's art, bulletin board for community flyers, a water dispenser, checkerboard table with checkers (recycled bottle caps), etc. My baristas were extremely friendly and service was quick. Caramel frappe was delicious. They feature local art vendors and I purchased an adorable pair of earrings. If I lived here, I would be in this coffee shop every single week.”

“We checked out Shiki awhile back for the 1st time, and it was delicious!! Our server, Gabrielle was very friendly and kind! She took time to explain the menu to us and gave us her recommendations. The cocktail I had was absolutely delicious!! I believe the cooks name was Zero, she was working hard and our food came pretty fast!

“This is a great new addition to Excelsior. Another venue created by Jester group. They also have Parlour downstairs and a fusion Asian place nearby.
We started with the popovers. They were a great option. Light, eggy, and cooked to perfection. The honey butter was the perfect pairing. The Caesar salad was very well made, balanced, and very fresh ingredients. The chicken wild rice soup was a nice starter. Perfectly seasoned, creamy, a good balance of wild rice, veggies, mushrooms,& chicken.
The Agnolletti was a small plate but very rich and truffle-y. The pasta was properly cooked and the creamy cheese filling was silky smooth. The Au Jus beef was a highlight. The shaves beef was delicious and tender. The au jus had depth of flavor and really soaked in to perfectly textured bun. Maybe could have used just a tad more salt, but regardless the flavors popped.
The margarita and the gimlet were excellent. The cherry bark collins was refreshing.
Overall a delicious meal. Absolutely would go back!”
