A few months ago, while walking near the lake, my family and I decided to grab some ice cream. I was worried I would not find any options, but thankfully, Licks Unlimited offered a few non-dairy flavors, which they also label as more sustainable. The person working quickly confirmed that they were vegan and even mentioned the sugar and cake cones are vegan too.
Last summer, they had two creamy flavors (both oat vanilla base) and two sorbets. I tried both creamy options, and they were delicious—with huge portions! The shop itself is super cute, making it a great stop. #Veganuary

Licks is a must do stop when visiting downtown Excelsior. It can get busy in the summer months so plan to wait in line outside the shop. It’s just a part of the Licks experience!
Dietary restrictions: I’m allergic to dairy but they always have a couple of non-dairy options. Not a lot, but it’s an ice cream joint so that’s not really their thing.

Yum!! We were craving ice cream while walking around Excelsior and spotted Licks. Super cute inside! Like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. The staff were so lovely and offered suggestions. We did both get ice cream sandwiches. The cookies were freshly baked and you can get any flavor ice cream inside. The only downside: it melts VERY fast, which they did warn us about, and therefore put in a boat so we could eat it. It’s pretty much ice cream soup with cookies, but still very good, but not a typical handheld ice cream Sammie.

"No Tip" that is what he said on May 18 2024 when I paid $9.90 for Ice Cream in a cup. This is not a full service restaurant, no service was provided, nothing other then which ice cream, cup or cone and that will be $9.90 Then you have the audacity to ask for a 20% tip ?
The place is over crowed and a Fire Hazard Death Trap. Way too many customers in there .
Once he took my payment I head him say to the others "NO TIP" that was rude. He said it right in front of me. He did nothing to earn a tip. He does not earn waitstaff wages .

It's a small place so a bit cramped. But the ice cream was delicious and served in an ample amount.Since it was one of the first really nice days, it was busy but the staff was on the job and we were in and out easily.
Parking: Town is very busy this time of year so free parking is at a premium. There is a lot about a block away and on street paid parking.
Kid-friendliness: They have kid size servings. And flavors kids get excited about.
