Fantastic experience! Great food and atmosphere! The sushi and rolls are always on point! The entire family loves it there!
We love Miyabi. We probably go at least once a month. The staff is super kind and the food is amazing.
There are better sushi places in the Twin Cities, but there aren't many options as far west as Excelsior, so this place can get pretty packed. You don't want to be sitting near the front entrance during the rush, because it won't feel very intimate. There is a sort of organized chaos to the entire proceedings. Some staffers look frazzled, others smile through it all and a few embrace the frenetic pace. The presentation of food was pretty good, and I enjoyed the meal, but the menu had a Cheesecake Factory quality to it. Just. So. Many. Options. After a while, the descriptions begin to sound the same, with ingredients given in a different order. Eventually, you feel like closing your eyes and pointing at a few options, hoping for the best. I fully recognize that running a restaurant at this point in time is challenging. You have to please the customer and maximize butts in seats. On that level, success! There wasn't much for differentiating character for me personally, but I don't think I'm the usual intended audience.
Great menu. Way more than just a sushi bar, although one of the largest selections of sushi in town. lots of "other" things to choose if someone in the party doesnt care for sushi.
We were celebrating my friends birthday and this was her first time at the restaurant. Our waitress gave excellent suggestions and was amazing. My friend really liked the sake flight. The food was fantastic and will definitely be back!
Great experience and food, as always! Prices rising a bit, but that's just a symptom of larger issues.
It was hard to decide what to have as the menu was so extensive. The poke bowl was excellent. Another in my party had the curry soup, and they were extremely accommodating in lowering the spicy heat. Our waiter was very pleasant and was always there to help without hovering. The room was attractive and we sat in a comfortable booth. There's also plenty of easy parking. I will definitely be back.
Wonderful dinner at Miyabi. Our server gave us excellent recommendations and the food was great! Good value!
Always excellent service and great food. Nice bathrooms. Good atmosphere. Neighborhood favorite.
We love Miyabi! They have some of the best sushi in the Twin Cities and a great cocktail list. The people watching Downtown Excelsior is fun to watch as well. *Sit at a booth or on the outdoor patio, along Water Street.

I was completely suprised at how great dinner was!! I eat sushi all over the Twin Cities, but this place has now moved to the top of my favorites. The portion sizes were well above average. Everything was fresh. The tempura was incredible. The prices are more reasonable than most other places and the service was impeccable. They also have a wasabi bloody Mary that is unlike anything I’ve ever had. Great diversity on the menu. There’s lots to eat if you don’t want traditional sushi.

King crab roll? Really? There was no real crab anywhere for you to charge $14 for a 6 roll piece. Mediocre sushi at best. Service ok.
