The food here was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed a wonderful meal on their front patio; order their house jerk chicken if you're unsure of what you want. The BBQ sauce is the best, as is their Coco Bread 👌🏼

Terribly slow service doesn’t begin to describe it. We’re here during Excelsior Apple Days and the place is not even half full. Took 20 minutes to order drinks and we’re 45 minutes in still waiting for food. Tempted to walk out.

The 5 stars on atmosphere was 100% influenced by my presence alone, but yeah the vibes were immaculate. 99 times out of 100 I would blackout here again. The beer flows like wine, and the liquor flows like an ocean current. The DJ always be playing the hits, and while he could bang some more deep cuts, I'll give him a pass because the ladies were moving to the grooves. I don't remember leaving, but upon arrival I could have swore I was in Ibiza not Excelsior Minnesota.

The food was good, however not the menu we saw online. The bathrooms were disgusting with puke in the urinal. Empty beer cans, and balloons littered the diining room and hallway leftover from the night before. The whole time we were there, the staff sat at the bar complaining about things. When we told them about the bathrooms the bartender just said that there is cleaning every morning but Sundays and she doesn't work Saturdays because of the parties.

Do not go here, SO many better options in Excelsior. We waited for 20 minutes before the host even acknowledged us (we had to ask her if she was the host). AC was out and clearly the staff was overwhelmed. We came back later in the night thinking it would be better. They let customers use the soda gun, it was a total free for all. Gross, sticky, slow, overpriced and terrible.

If I could give 0 starts I would. Given this place multiple chances. The worst food, staff, and atmospheres I have ever experienced in my life. Waited 25 min to get host attention, AC was broken, short staffed, bad food, drinks were wrong every time. Staff knows how poorly it is managed but is trying to keep it running with a pathetic owner. 4th of July and staff said owner ignored AC break, no one showing up to work DO NOT GO HERE. IT NEEDS TO CLOSE AND LET A REAL RESTAURANT OPERATE IN THIS SPACE.

MontegoBlu - Tropical American Kitchen has unveiled a new menu, and I was particularly excited to try the Rasta Pasta, which lived up to all expectations.the flavour the jerk chicken also the crunchy vegetables that was in it 😋, including taste, texture and presentation was truly outstanding. I also sampled the cream cheese puff, which offered a clever twist on a classic, and the rum cake , a perfect ending to the meal. The menu boasts a diverse selection of dishes, each reflecting the chef’s culinary expertise and attention to detail. While I haven’t tried everything yet, my initial impressions are highly favorable. I will definitely return to explore the rest of the menu.😊😊

Went here with some friends, we searched for Caribbean cuisine and this place popped up and it did not disappoint, from the food to the service and atmosphere it was great. We sat at the bar and Katy the bartender served us and she was great we moved to the patio cause they had live music but it was such a a great day we wanted to sit outside and it was really great. I got the Jamaican banh Mi sandwich a long with the cream cheese puffs and they were so good 😊 parking was a little hard but we were advised to park over by the new apartments that offered free parking.

Definitely recommend for hanging out with friends and family 🎉🎉

We came here for lunch at noon on a Friday. The place was completely empty except for staff. There was shouting and screaming coming from the kitchen that continued for quite a long time. Our server was friendly, but didn’t know how to describe the food. When we asked about what was on the tacos, he said “stuff.” We had shrimp tacos which were tasty, but nothing special. The whole time we were there - which was a couple of hours - only two other people came in. This restaurant has a fairly large footprint. Maybe they have a better dinner crowd, but based on our experience, this place may not last long…mediocre at best.

As soon as I walked in I was underwhelmed. The floor and tables where all sticky, table was wobbly with a napkin under the legs. The menus where like soggy napkins. I ordered the 1/2 jerk chicken with high expectations….what a let down. The mashed potatoe side was clearly made from dehydrated potatoes. The jerk chicken sauce must not have been made in store. The chicken itself was clearly freezer burned and had been stored for way to long. If your looking to be disappointed then Montegoblu is the place for you.
