State Fair menu is awesome!

We stopped in at supper time for their 'state fair' food tonight. The grilled pork chops on a stick were pretty good, our daughter said the Chicago dog was also good and the cheese curds were decent; but didn't care for the rest of the items that we tried. The grilled sweet corn was terrible, no flavor and tough, ate half and gave up; definitely didn't taste anywhere close to the Klingelhutz Nirvana sweet corn we've gotten in Victoria twice the last couple of weeks. The brat bites tasted like a corn dog and the shrimp on toast was just deep fried shrimp on bread. Nice to try new and different items. I'd go back for the grilled pork chop this year, but that would be about it.

I left a jacket on the back of my chair by accident. Called twice with servers name and where I sat within 48 hours but was told it was not in lost and found. So where did it go?

The patio was nice, that was the best part. The food wasn't very flavorful. The fried chicken was the best food and it was only OK. The kitchen messed up all four of our meals and when I paid, they mixed up the bill and charged the wrong one to my card almost costing me an extra $30. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

From the south and this place is one of the few that manages a pretty good version of my favorites.

Had the Tennessee chicken sandwich- it came in a reasonable time but the food itself was chewy in a bad way. For its price point I expected better quality and flavor. $20+ for a rough chicken sandwich and fries is a bit crazy.

Brisket was a little tough but maybe they were leaner pieces and didn’t care for their bbq sauce, a little sour. Mac and cheese was not good, kinda dry and bland. Cornbread and Cajun clam chowder were the highlights of the meal. But wouldn’t go back.

Holy moly great food ! My diet restricted kids all enjoyed their choices because it was prepared so lovely . The patios are beautiful in shade and gorgeous flowers hanging down to enjoy. We were sooooo thirsty in the heat and server kept us with full glasses.

High quality experience. Great service and the food was excellent. Well seasoned and large portions. Being from Louisiana, it’s great to find a place that cooks southern food properly. We will definitely make this a regular spot.

Food was great! Chicken in all forms is great here. The only reason I gave 4 stars for service is because the hostess looked like she was working a job she didn’t want and didn’t say thank you on my take out order
Grilled Chicken Caesar wrap: great taste- go a little less on the grill marks tho- not necessary to have a Branding on a chx Caesar wrap.
Chicken Tenders: great choice if you’re stuck.
BLT: great flavor and loved the green fried tomato. Sauce was spot on too
Hamburger: good enough for chicken spot.
Fried pickles: Absolutely fire choice with the spiciness. Great sauce whatever it’s called. Definitely get these.

In the restaurant- less high-tops, don’t know of anyone that actually likes them but interior is fine.

I would definitely come back!

Great service and food is solid. I got their French onion smash burger with a side of onion rings. 3 stars because there was only like 6 onion rings total. Everything was very tasty with that being said.
