Best $4 spent in the MN State Fair.
No butterflies were harmed putting on this cool display. JK!
They have them spin around on the way out so the butterflies don’t leave with them
Grandma bought my son a Monarch caterpillar at the caterpillar store. My son was really annoyed that the caterpillar died inside it's chrysalis. They gave it dry milkweed, and we had to give it some fresher milkweed from our neighbor's garden, but it still died. My son suspects these caterpillars were not treated well. He asked me to write this one star review.
This place is awful!!! Dead butterflies all over the place. Many that are alive are missing body parts. Many of them are stepped on & squashed to the ground. How this place is allowed at the fair, I have no idea...
Amazing having butterflys land on you but the exit staff are super rough with them, grabbing them by their wings and bodies and tossing them into a net or on the floor, so sad, i saw them doing this so i made sure to get them all off me gently before the staff could manhandle the poor things.
Worth the 4$ sure, seeing butterflies is always a magical feeling, especially when they land on you. Little sad when you see some butterflies with riped wings. Some of the exit staff seemed rude, but I understand the frustration of getting people to listen, especially in a crowded area. I think the traumatizing part was when a man with a net pushed the butterflies out the net and seemed like they just fell and broke a wing. Would I do this again? Probably not ?
Do you like having a self-righteous person whine that their exit is clearly marked when you have already tried to take your terrified, whimpering child out the door that was marked exit? You'll love this.
Other kid was fine with flying insects.
Employees not very active other than to unhelpfully yell.
Always come to the butterfly house to honor my son. It's 8pm and they are closed. I'm thoroughly disappointed and sad.
I’m not sure… I love the experience, but majority of the butterflies were missing legs, some were dead, or had broken wings and couldn’t fly right. Two of the ones that were on me had broken wings, and parents don’t control their wild kids when it comes to the butterflies. It was sad, the kids shouldn’t be snatching them and forcing them to be on them when they don’t want to. Also, when a butterfly is found dead, the staff carelessly toss their lifeless bodies over a net as a whatever, apparently that’s where the dead butterflies are tossed when the kids accidentally stomp on them, or if they die of their injuries. But oh wait, you will be fined if you try to steal one, but when they are killed oh it’s ok. Staff doesn’t seem to care with it comes to these fragile butterflies. It’s is a cool place otherwise, but it should be supervised if there are children involved since the staff doesn’t tell anyone how to properly handle them. I honestly think the staff doesn’t care much and this should be a supervised space

Butterflies with shredded wings, missing legs, dead on the floor, wild children grabbing and snatching them, butterflies being stepped on by careless people. Employees who don't step in, no real education about how to handle them with care, no real plants for them to escape to, and no feeding stations. I don't understand how this place is allowed to operate under those conditions. It either needs to be shut down or overhauled.

All you can eat butterflies. Yummy and crunchy. If you can catch them. Best restaurant in town!
