Biking 12 miles from Lanesboro to Fountain, we stopped at the Village Square. Got there 10 minutes before it opened and one person was already waiting to get pie to go. When the doors opened at 11:00 there were 7 more locals waiting. The warm and comfortable dining area had four tables occupied. All of whom got the daily lunch special which looked delicious. Riding the Root River trail for 12 miles we arrived at the Village Square ready for coffee and pie. They just opened at 11:00 and four tables of locals had already placed their order for the daily special. More came in and there were several to go orders whine we were there. The young gal serving everyone with a smile was wonderful. The coffee was good and the strawberry rhubarb pies was delicious! Very nice young lady greeted us at the counter. She helped with answering questions and recommending pies. We got coconut cream and peach pies. Outstanding, fresh and delicious. We will be returning to try others.
