Probably the cutest DQ I've ever been to! Pulled up out front, and there's a campfire going with lawn chairs arranged around it to sit and enjoy. There's also a pergola with tables that would accommodate larger groups if needed. But the atmosphere was just quaint and adorable!
When I went inside, it reminded me of a place that was opened in the early 70's but carefully maintained. Not run down at all, just harkening back to a different era in it's styling. The staff were friendly and courteous, and it seemed that they had people working there who really wanted to be there which was a refreshing change from most fast food locations these days.

Ordered on the app for the first time, said my meal would be ready in 19 min.ok, so,20 min later, I go up to the counter and ask the girl if its ready, she says probably give it a couple more minutes. At the 35 minute mark, I ask again, she says theyll call me when its ready. Finally call my name after 40 minutes of watching a lot of people come in, order, get their food, finish eating and leave, all who came in after me. After 50 minutes, I asked the chill guy how much longer my sister had to wait, who ordered at the same time as I did, and found out her food had been prepared 30 minutes earlier, but they never called her name. Should have gone somewhere else. I expected better of DQ.

Staff is friendly and efficient, the burgers were good and the rings were above average, hot and crunchy. On Sunday night, half an hour before closing, it was pretty busy since this DQ was the only restaurant in Grand Marais still open. The great crew were still cheerful and kept things moving.

No toast, who in the actual flip gets this meal and doesn't want the toast?? Workers look like they haven't showered in weeks. Half of them had no work uniform on. Who's to say they even work there? Short Asian with the pink hair was pretty cute tho. Go anywhere else to get your food.

Very very minimal toppings on a hot fudge sundae and a turtle blizzard. Will not return.
Worst dq on the planet hands down. Get it together! They only care about money from tourists while treating locals as the plague. Wanna try to visit in the slow season? Think again, only open for events. I've never hated a location so much. Owners must be horrible people.

So pleased to leave this review because it was a very good experience. My wife and I were visiting the area and one night we needed to get away from our rainy campsite. We ordered online as we pulled into town and expected a longer wait. (Sometimes, small town stores like this are popular and become overwhelmed.)As I waited for the order, there were friendly patrons enjoying the fire outside welcoming me to join them. Inside the music was festive 40s and 50s. Everyone was in great spirits.Our food was hot and fresh; very tasty! Such a warm moment to see complete strangers coming together to enjoy some DQ, smiling, waiting patiently, holding doors for each other,.. as life should be.
Parking: Yes, Grand Marais can get busy, and parking can get tricky, but as long as you know that entire part of town is like that, you just do the best you can. It is popular for good reason!
