I was excited to check out a place while visiting Minnesota. We happened upon this place and was greeted fairly quickly. We got our food in a fairly decent amount of time, but unfortunately the food isn't fresh. It's old food that has been sitting around and is reheated in the microwave. When the food comes out it's scalding hot, which no plate should be unless it's a parillada. I wouldn't want to check this place out again. Maya Authentic Mexican Restaurant offers delicious food, excellent service, and great margaritas. The restaurant exceeds expectations with its tasty meals and welcoming atmosphere. Guests enjoy the friendly and attentive staff, and during happy hour from 3-6 PM, they can get half-priced margaritas and discounted appetizers. Popular menu items include the Al-Pastor street tacos and Horchata. Many visitors consider Maya a hidden gem, praising the fresh, made-to-order food and the salsa, which is regarded as the best around. The restaurant has a spacious parking lot, though the shared roadway leading to it might be a bit bumpy. Reviewers highlight the awesome service with no wait, and mention enjoying drinks like the Maya Sunrise and Miami Vice, along with Chicken Soup & Rice. The fajitas (steak & chicken) are served without beans upon request, and the salsa and queso are rated 10/10, with some adding chorizo for extra flavor. The atmosphere is described as very cute, and the food is relatively authentic despite some opinions to the contrary. Plates are large, but portion sizes can sometimes feel small, leading some to view prices as a bit high. Overall, the experience remains positive, with many considering Maya their favorite Mexican restaurant, despite a small fee for card payments. The overall food quality and service make Maya a worthwhile destination for Mexican cuisine.
