The food is great, drinks are great. Beer is always cold. The atmosphere is inviting. I love all of the bartenders & wait staff. The new owners are wonderful & friendly. I have made many new friends here.
As a previous employee I would not recommend going here, one of the owners likes to drink while working and doesn’t follow all the health codes, while working in back I saw them set the bag of raw chicken on the dishwasher station to batter the chicken before frying it.
We made the trip from Austin, MN to Janesville specifically to visit The Purple Goose Smokehouse & Saloon! As our luck goes, we arrived right as breakfast was ending BUT the new owners were extremely friendly & let us order breakfast anyway!! The food alone was worth the trip!
