Chankaska Creek Ranch, Winery, & Distillery

(Updated review) Had a bad experience back in 2017, but we figured we'd give it another go (especially thanks to the MN Distillery Passport). We still lament our previous experience in non-upfront pricing on a "special", but that was 2017, and lesson learned.

Here we are in 2024 (almost 2025) and while we thought the wine was so-so, as well as the pizza (2.5/5), the cocktails were the best part of our visit. The place has changed a bit since 2017, and it is a beautiful place without a doubt.

Hosted a wedding ceremony and reception here and could not have been happier. Fantastic staff from start to finish, beautiful location, great wine and spirits. Highly recommend!

Seems a bit worn...could use new menus, perhaps

Enjoyed a cousins wedding here. It is a really beautiful & intiment venue down by the creek and the reception hall is absolutely gorgeous! Perfectly set up for a wedding or another event where you'd want a main space and then more of a bar space. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice little wedding or event venue.

Wonderful relaxing atmosphere and on a beautiful day too! Enjoyed our family just walking around and the conversation!

What a beautiful place. Great customer service and yummy wine and spirits. We had a pizza with our bottle of wine and took home the espresso cream liqueur. ? Look forward to going back!

I am giving this a 2 out of 5 stars only about the bridal suite at the winery and event coordinator. My best friend got married on Saturday there and there was no AC in the suite that we got ready in on a 90 degree hot summer day. We were in there all day long starting at 8am. Only had a wall ac that only was in the kitchen that was not very cold at all. There was also no where to sit except for a few kitchen chairs that were not comfortable and only used to sit to get your hair and makeup done if it was your turn. We sat on the hardwood floor. There was no paper towels or anything available to us. Nobody checked in on us at all. When asked for a fan they brought us a heater. There was no heads up or apologies and was met with rudeness from the coordinator. The makeup artists said it was the hottest environment they’ve worked in and had to touch up our hair and makeup multiple times. The venue itself and outside is beautiful and the rest of the staff was great. She paid extra to even get the suite early. It was not fun for any of us and we were all miserable. Definitely a rip off on her wedding day. I never write a review but this was something other brides should know before booking.

Great winery. Love the outdoor seating. Their wood fired pizza is fantastic. They use Riedel glasses so you know they are top notch.

Chankaska Winery is a true gem in Kasota! The grounds are stunning and the food and wine are delicious too! Love this place ?

We rented the Creekside tent for a Celebration of Life event. The atmosphere was perfect and the space personified the woman we were honoring. The Chankaska team covered all the details so it made the event stress free. An added bonus was the wine! I would hold another event here in a heartbeat!

We had a great visit the Chankaska Winery over the weekend. It was drizzly and rainy but they had a cozy fire inside and lots of fun drinks to try. Their lemon drop shot and the peppermint liquour were my two favorites! Wonderful ambiance and stunning property with a beautiful creek next to the back patio. I can’t wait to visit again!

Exceptionally crafted wines and delicious pizzas! Great staff; Servers are friendly, well trained, helpful and knowledgeable. Top-notch venue and relaxing ambiance.
