Hazel's in Minneapolis was our go-to neighborhood restaurant. Now that we live near Gull Lake, the Summerhouse is our new favorite. Great place, great food.

For the third time our food never came. It’s incompetent management. They are terrible. The food is good when it comes - so disappointed tonight. It was going to be a birthday celebration. After waiting 30 minutes for ribs, which are already prepared the waitress and owner admitted they forgot to put our order in but made sure we paid for our cocktails before we left. I always support our local businesses. Summerhouse makes it too difficult to continue my support for them.

Unfortunately the service has really gone downhill. The food is awesome and they used to have great service. Just went tonight and waited 20 min without even a drink order. It’s a shame. And don’t plan on watching sports there, they have some weird Caribbean theme (in central MN) going on and clearly don’t know how to read the surrounding area. Do better. #bringbackkellys

Seemed newly remodeled. Good variety of creative foods. Tomato soup seemed homemade and had a quality flavor. Pork tacos had lots of flavor and was fresh. Burger meat was well cooked and quality bun.

Stopped here on our way to a golf tournament! Was pleasantly surprised with both the food (breakfast) & drink menus. Have been looking for a good bloody Mary for a while and finally found it here. We sat outside and were greeted by a friendly hummingbird. We will come again next time we’re in the area!

Whoa I don’t know where all these great reviews came from. What a waste of time and money. Waited 10 plus minutes for a table and waitress thought we should be ready to order in the first 58 seconds. We hadn't been here in years because of the last bad experience we needed to re introduce ourselves to the menu. After ordering chips and queso for an app to judge the food. The waitress seemed annoyed we took 15ish minutes to decide, We sat for 45 minutes without getting even water refills. Food was meh. Either over or under seasoned.

The Sunshine's Summerhouse is a fun place with a very Key West, FL. vib. The music and the vib reminded us of Key West. The menu had a lot of options. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tater Tots. The pork was excellent in flavor and texture. The totes were cooked perfect in clean oil to a golden color. My spouse had the BBG Wings. She said the were good, but not the best she has had. Her preference is boneless wings. Our daughter has the Firecracker Shrimp Salad and she said it was awesome!!! We all sa.pled the shrimp and they were excellent. Overall the dish has just the right amount of heat, ot too hot/spicy, but just right. The grandkids ate all their food as well. Very rare that they eat all their food so they must have liked it. The French Fries are like a beer batter fries and were excellent and cooked to perfection. To wrap up the meal we had the Mini Key Lime Pie and a Hot Fudge Brownie. Both again were excellent! The service was good, they were using an IPad for the orders so waitress said was her second day with the IPad so ordering was a little slow.

Excellent place to eat, best French fries I have ever had. Smoked ribs were really good. I had forgotten my purse there and picked it up the next day and all my money was still there. Great place to eat, everyone needs to eat there at least once. You gotta try it.

Easy to get a table Saturday night in the fall. In fact, it was pretty quiet when we arrived, which was surprising. I hope this is only a seasonal slump as I really enjoyed the food at Sunshine’s Summerhouse and want them to remain open next time I’m back in this area.
Ordered the Cajun chicken avocado sandwich (server said this is one of their bestsellers, after the burger) - did not disappoint. Fries are seasoned well and crispy - not your standard/typical fries. Cole slaw is a generous scoop serving. I’m a big fan of cole slaw in general and theirs is pretty darn good. Cheese curds are a bit heavy on the coating and just so-so IMO. I think you can find better elsewhere.
