Rode bike to the Popple bar from Lake Benedict. Great trail to get there. Was not too busy. Sat on patio, overlooking a marshy lake. Relaxing.

Great bar with friendly service, good bar food, entertainment, and $6 martinis.
I drove out here to meet with some friends for lunch. It was closed. So I parked and waited for friends who were on bikes.A crabby old man comes out and asks what I was doing and I told him I was waiting for friends to show up.He rudely asked me to park on the opposite side of the hwy. Not in front of his bldg.I guess I won't be bothering him again.

I swear I had one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had in my life at this joint today. Loose meat, soft bun, char on the outside, pink in the middle. Damn. I wasn’t hungry after I had one but it was so good I had another just because.

We love the Popple. A classic country bar. Menu is pretty small but the food is good and the staff is great.
