Birch's is one of the best places to go in the entire Twin Cities. It's unique yet, classic in many ways. Delicious food. Great Staff. Beautiful Ambiance. The crowds always bring a great energy.
Beautiful afternoon, great food, great service

Service is key. We had a party of 14 for a 6:30 birthday celebration. We waited over an hour and a half for food. Unreal! Waited for drinks, waited for a waitress, waited for water. Spent hours waiting. Must do better.

If you’re looking for really good food keep driving. Our food tasted like heated up leftovers from the weekend.

My wife and I recently visited Birches to celebrate her 40th birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and lakeside atmosphere!
I really enjoyed the chicken & rib dinner and my wife got the scallops over mashed potatoes. We also devoured the crab artichoke appetizer that was definitely the best we've had.
The manager came by to check on us halfway through our dinner and was kind enough to return with a birthday card and discount on our next visit.
Our server was very attentive, gave great recommendations, and also offered a nice birthday dessert on the house. We got the key lime cheesecake to-go and it was absolutely delicious!
We will absolutely be returning and recommending Birches for any special occasions!

They know how to make it right. My husband and I both ordered steaks, mine was perfect his was not good, didn't eat it not good. It was impressive how well they took care of us when we mentioned it. Can't say enough good things about the manager either, we appreciate it!
Went there for anniversary dinner. The ambiance is nice with the view of the lake. They do a good job of taking care of you. Nice service. Food was great. My only little gripe is the cost of the filet mignon. $45 for what was barely a six ounce steak. It was delicious, though. The walleye was excellent as well, with a generous portion of fish. The two beers I had (blood orange berliner weiss and raspberry wheat ale) were very good.
Once again, freezing cold at our table. This has been a problem at Birches on the Lake for years. We like the view so we keep trying the place every now and then. NEVER let your customers be cold, and never let the workers near the thermostat.
Ingrid took wonderful care of my husband and me. It's was our 5th wedding anniversary, and we had a beautiful view of the lake. The ribs and fried chicken combo was delicious.
We love the beautiful views of Long Lake and the delicious Buckhorn Chicken based on an old Long Lake Classic Restaurant. The complimentary table appetizers are quite nice and we ordered one of the huge desserts and split it among our entire group. Our waitress was very attentive and informative. Highly recommend for any occasion

Sat on the outdoor patio. Views of the lake were spectacular. Wait staff was very attentive, the food was wonderful, and we enjoyed their tap beers. Just a great dining experience.

Ordered lobster salad that had maybe 2 oz of lobster and priced over $30. Smaller quantity from prior outings. The linguini and clams was mediocre and in a white sauce versus wine sauce. Ambience is always great but the food has gone down in quality and quantity and the prices have risen. Not good value for the money spent
I cant say enough good thing about our visit to Birch's! Everything from the bar service to table service was wonderful. And so was the food - especially loves the crab cake appetizer - very meaty amd flavorful. We will definately come back again.
This is my third time at birch's in the last couple months and for the second time it was very average. For starters, it is expensive for what you get. This time, I ordered a lobster sandwich and they brought me a hamburger. Turns out they were out of lobster and just decided to substitute a hamburger? I was given the option of keeping the hamburger or ordering something else but considering how slow it was, there was no way I was going to order something else. It was comped, but I just think it is strange not to come out of the kitchen and say “oh hey we're out of lobster. Is there something else you might like?” They gave us a card for $15 off our next visit, which is nice, but this is definitely not an elevated dining experience.
When we got there they claimed they do not take reservations for the patio and that we would have to wait 40 minutes. They should rly update their Open Table if that's the case, we were not the only ones with confirmed reservations who were turned away.
